California Jazz Conservatory

From its campus in the Berkeley Arts District, the California Jazz Conservatory is the only institution of higher education in the United States dedicated entirely to jazz. The conservatory offers a Bachelor of Music degree in Jazz Studies with instrumental and vocal concentrations. In addition, every student must pass a faculty jury evaluation at the conclusion of every year of the conservatory’s 4-year curriculum and all students are required to complete a senior performance project in order to graduate. The CJC campus is home to a 100-seat concert space where faculty and student ensembles perform throughout the year.
