Founded in 1863, Emporia State University is a public institution with “selective” admissions that offers a flat rate tuition. The Emporia State campus houses the Johnston Geology Museum, the Peterson Planetarium, and the Richard H. Schmidt Museum of Natural History, as well as several programs for students to take advantage of, such as The Healthy Relationship & Interpersonal Violence Education (THRIVE) and Chi Alpha Epsilon Honor Society. Emporia also provides TradPlus & Veteran Student Services.

emporia state university is a great school, it is a very student driven campus with lots of opportunity's to get involved with the community and different clubs. the teachers and staff are very welcoming and go out of there way to make sure all needs of the students are met. the class sizes are perfect and the teachers actually make sure to get to know the students.
