Am learning a lot
the courses have on a average 25- 30 students, so there is always more than enough chance for everone to ask their questions and recieve answers. Also there are always working tutors willing to go beyond their tasks
Am enjoying being here
I love being at Ivy Tech, because the crowd is diverse and everyone is mature with a destiny to obtain their degrees
Bang for the buck
Less than a thousand dollars a course, books on an average cost about one hundred and twenty dollars so ofcourse you will get your bang for your buck
Tips for prospective students
Financial adi is a privilage and their certain situations that can cause obsticals, such as, dropping a class so I wouldn't reccomend perfonrming this action
Great for these types of students
This is a great school for students who don't really won't the large scale class enviornment and for those who like to be heard. It is great for students who want to start collge but would like a more conveient price

Am learning a lot
I am really enjoy the culinary program that Ivy Tech of Central Indiana is offering. All of the educators and the head of the culinary department, Chef Bricker are very involved and accredited for their positions. Everyone shows lots of passion and excitement for what they do. This helps me to feel the same and deffinatly encourages my learning. I feel as though they really care about the success of their students.
Am enjoying being here
I enjoy being at Ivy Tech because I know that I am refining myself into a more educated and disciplined individual through my work and studies here. Also when you are around people who are excited about sharing/teaching what they do, it makes it all the more enjoyable.
Bang for the buck
I chose Ivy Tech at first because I did not know what I wanted to go to school for and I did not want to waste a ton of money trying to figure it out either. Ivy Tech was a great chpice for me because I am now working on a degree that I love. I am happy with the culinary program here at Ivy Tech and am planning on finishing my degree here.
Tips for prospective students
My tip for school is to figure out what you want to do. Research all you can and find out everything you need to know for what you plan on going for. Be sure of what you want then go for it. Work hard and give it the best you've got. Don,t give up over struggle for struggle is what leads to new growth.:)
Great for these types of students
Ivy Tech is great for people still trying to figure out what path they want to take. A class you take and don't use costs a lot less here at Ivy Tech than it does at the big name four year schools. The Culinary program is for people like me who learn best through hands on involvement and close connection with hard working educators. I really appreciate everything that Ivy Tech and mainly their culinary program is doing for me the student.

If you plan to attend IUPUI, do your first two years here to save much money. The pre-engineering courses I have taken have, so far, been demanding and rewarding. There is an amazing selection of courses, so consider trying something different (e.g., machinist classes), as the tuition costs are low enough that dabbling won't destroy you financially.
Tips for prospective students
Put your cell phone away and study. Purdue University is quite arrogant, so the engineering- and technology-specific courses here will likely not transfer there. Keep in mind Purdue-West Lafayette is so snobbish it even refuses to accept credits from its own branch campuses of the College of Technology (and who knows what else). Keep in mind that pre-engineering and engineering technology are different. The engineering courses may be allowed to fill certain engineering technology requirements, but it does not work the other way, which a few students I know have found out the hard way.
Academic Rigor
The pre-engineering courses have been rather demanding (and enjoyable), but I also try to do more exercises from the material than are assigned. As for other courses, I do not know, as I've filled my general education credits elsewhere.
Food and Dining
I've never eaten on the campus, because I have to watch my spending.
What to do for fun
I'm a non-traditional engineering student: I don't have a social life, so I don't know. However, Indianapolis is a large city with many possibilities. Ivy Tech makes clear efforts to involve students in more than courses alone and does a good job informing them of various activities on campus.
Bang for the buck
The Pre-Engineering programs in EE and ME transfer to IUPUI. You can knock out the first two years of study in these two engineering fields, get an AS degree, and transfer to IUPUI without losing time or much money. The Ivy Tech GPA doesn't transfer to IUPUI (you just get the credits), but that's a small price to pay for saving thousands of dollars to enjoy smaller classes.
Great for these types of students
Students who want to save money and transfer to IUPUI. If you have vocational interests, it's a superb choice.
Campus Safety
Perhaps very late at night in summer it would be a bad idea to hang around once the buildings are locked up. There are guards and the parking garages are patrolled.

Ivy Tech Community College is an awesome school. They are very flexible with your schedule and challenge you to do things that you thought you could never do. They have taught me a lot about being an adult and being a college student.
Tips for prospective students
This is a great start before something big, it is always great to have a foundation. Let Ivy Tech be that foundation.
Academic Rigor
The academics are very accurate, challenging, and will make you try your best.
Dorm Life
My dorm is at home. Your dorm at Ivy Tech can be anywhere you choose.
Food and Dining
OH MY GOSH, the food is to DIE for, it is so good, they have real chefs and they do an amazing job.
What to do for fun
There are a lot of intramural sports, clubs, and groups to get into at Ivy Tech. They college is very open minded and will consider any new group.
Bang for the buck
Bang for the buck? What can I say I saved over $8,000 this year, how about I am not in debt up to my eye balls.
Great for these types of students
Trying to get things on the right track, save money, and just about anyone.
Campus Safety
Very safe, the security is very kind, and they just built a sky walk to make it safe for students.
