Southern Maine Community College is a public, 2-year institution established primarily in the city of South Portland, with a satellite campus located in Brunswick. The college offers over 40 academic programs in five different divisions of study including Applied Technology, Health Sciences, Public Safety, Arts & Sciences, and Business & Information Technology. SMCC also offers online and hybrid course options, with degrees in Liberal Studies and Business Administration available to complete entirely online. Residential students have the opportunity to choose to live either on the seaside campus in South Portland, or on the Midcoast campus in Brunswick.
Southern Maine Community College should actually be called a coastal college out of irony! It is right on the coast, but there is no way you can coast by. Even though it is a community college, you still have to apply yourself like any higher up college, and everyone here wants you to do just that.

SMCC is a friendly environment with many pluses as to why you should attend. They have a wide variety of degrees and jobs on campus. They are also located on the scenic Maine ocean and it is a very clean environment.
