is inexpensive, yet quality. good for undecided majors. has excellent programs and professors.
Tips for prospective students
this is a great school if you don't know what you want to do and need some time to decide without taking time out of school. the classes are small and the professors are accessible. they have a lot of options for students.
Academic Rigor
some classes are harder than others. they are typical college level courses, but again, the professors are willing to help. even if your high school performance wasn't necessarily outstanding, it is a completely different feel.
Food and Dining
the dining services on campus are not bad. there is a variety to choose from. because it is a commuter school, there are no meal plans, but it is good for going to get something in between classes.
What to do for fun
there are many activities on campus that will keep you entertained. the f wing is dedicated to student activities and there are many school sponsored activities/trips.
Bang for the buck
certainly worth the money. very inexpensive, especially for connecticut residents. there are a lot of financial aid options that the college will help you with.
Great for these types of students
great for students that are undecided or don't want to spend too much money on college right away. if you want to get some kind of a degree to get started on the right foot.
Clubs and Activities
there is a baseball team, a couple of clubs geared towards people of certain majors, and many others. information about clubs is posted everywhere in the school.
Campus Safety
it is a small campus with a lot of security personnel around. the parking lots and hallways are constantly being patrolled and i personally have never had a security problem.

i remember a lot of my fellow high school friends looking down at this community college because it wasn't those big universities but i can honestly say this is a great school. this school not only has great programs like their nursing one but because it's local, it helps a lot of fresh high schoolers who don't know what they want to major in yet and cope with the transition from real . i've attended this college for almost two years now and i highly recommend this college because it's a great school.
Tips for prospective students
try to get classes all planned way ahead of time, i mean like start registering right after the semester has ended because classes come and go really fast.
plan to get your classes within two to three days of the week so that the commute wouldn't waste as much gas and time as oppose to having one class everyday.
Academic Rigor
great staff, clean, and friendly environment.
Dorm Life
there's no dorms.
Food and Dining
the cafe food is a bit on the expensive side, i mean when you're hungry and you have no time to go out to get food, this will do but i paid almost $3 for literally 5 small pieces of mozzarella sticks. =/
What to do for fun
there's a game room in the f wing of the second floor where students can go and chillax before or after class. there's a billiards table, television, and i think a wii?
Bang for the buck
the tuition is great here, my financial aid covers all of it every year that i apply and i always get money back for books which can also be applied to the bookstore! the staff in the financial aid office is really helpful too!
Clubs and Activities
lots of clubs!
Campus Safety
the safety here is amazing, i always see security on duty no matter what time of the day walking around campus and calling in to check-in their position of where they are at the school.

Tips for prospective students
Join at least one group to make friends and feel a part of the Three Rivers community. Use the tutoring center - so much help for free. Study hard and realize your academic potential.
Academic Rigor
Challenging and fair. When you receive a high GPA, you've earned it and you'll feel so proud of yourself.
Food and Dining
Provides assortment of beverages and snacks. Some days have limited hours so you may need to pack some snacks as backups.
What to do for fun
Take a hike with the Trailblazers or look for internships that may lead to scholarships. Act in a play or promote a cause you believe in. Participate in the many events offered by Student Activities such as ice cream socials, movie night or volunteer to read on the Cat in the Hat Day.
Bang for the buck
Many classes transfer to other schools because staff has worked hard to find accredited 4-year schools to accept transfers from Three Rivers Community College. Ask about businesses that offer employment after receiving a degree or certification from TRCC.

Clubs and Activities

Three Rivers is a great option for anyone looking to save money before transferring to a four-year university. There are tons of opportunities to get involved with, and just as many people to talk to about your educational and vocational future. It is popular among all generations, which is great because you're able to communicate with people with first-hand experiences.
Tips for prospective students
Make the most of it. You're able to take incredible classes at even more incredible prices.
Academic Rigor
It is what you make of it. (Un)fortunately, you can learn nothing and get an A or absorb all the information and get an A, but it's not always a walk in the park.
Dorm Life
There are no dorms on campus
Food and Dining
I've never had anything, but there is a cafeteria as well as a cyber cafe. Both seem very welcoming and the aromas surrounding them are really nice!
What to do for fun
When the courtyards are open, they are a very nice place to hang out with friends, study, or both.
Bang for the buck
You get way more out of it than you pay. You can get the same education for about $2000 as people going to schools for ten times as much money. It is an absolute bargain!
Great for these types of students
Adult learners, students with children, people who are unsure of their majors, really anyone!
Clubs and Activities
There are many clubs and activities to get involved with! Most of them schedule meetings so as to not interfere with anyone's school schedule which is definitely a plus. It is extremely easy to get involved.
Campus Safety
I have never felt threatened or unsafe, but if I did, campus security is always around and approachable for any problems I might encounter.
