Am learning a lot
There is a whole lot of nothing to do around Buies Creek, so learning is the next best thing... :)
Am enjoying being here
Campbell is situated in a quiet area inbetween two small towns. I enjoy a serene atmosphere and if I want to do something, I can just pick a town to go to.
Bang for the buck
Campbell is EXPENSIVE to the financialy average family. However, the education is up to par, the food is decent (though you'll get sick of Marshbanks), there are plenty of recreational fields (for those with an athletic spark), and the scenery is very pleseant (especialy in the snow... which isn't to often).
Tips for prospective students
Don't waste your money if you're comming here to squander your time (I can name some other colleges for that). Always take advantage of the open library (especialy when your finals come), buy your books early (finding them online instead of Campbell's bookstore will save you money, particularly when you return them to the bookstore), always use the gym at least twice a week (its free!), and most importantly, use the camel bucks towards the end of the semester (if you come to Campbell, you'll know what I mean).
Great for these types of students
Self motivated individuals will exceed here. You must be able to work under stress (this isn't a free ride). You will be in the middle of nowhere so being able to deal with that would be a big plus (there is a Walmart some 10 miles away, though).

As for intended majors, Campbell offers plenty of different subject areas. Campbell is the number 1 law school in NC (so I've heard... but they're moving to Raliegh). Pre-Pharm students are abundant here as well.

Am learning a lot
The classes here are very challenging. I transferred here from another school and I finally know I am getting my money's worth. Professors are very nice and assessable with small classroom sizes. Graduating from Campbell University I will know and feel that I worked hard for my degree and will be able to excel in graduate studies. If you are looking into Campbell and looking for a school just to get by in I wouldn't suggest you coming here.
Am enjoying being here
This school has so much to offer! And it's a great that it is a private school! (They have a lot of $!!!) They have trips offered to students all the time- trips to Hawaii, Georgia, Florida, NFL Panther games, etc. Also I love the fact this school is Division 1 with a football team, makes campus life more knit and it's very enjoyable to cheer on the Fighting Camels!
Bang for the buck
The school is a little over 30,000 but the school is very generous with scholarships. If you have over a 3.0 in H.S or college (if your a transfer) coursework you are most likely guaranteed a Scott-Elis or Presidential Scholarship. (Usually ranging between $6,000-12,000-my scholarship was 8,500 with a 3.18 college GPA.)
Tips for prospective students
Be a good well rounded student. This school is getting bigger and better. It is a good school now but with the Physician Assistant major available starting the 2010-2011 academic year-this school will be getting more prestigious and harder to get in over the next upcoming years.

Also I was reading this on the Campbell website that after each student took this National Survey of Student Engagement- more than 92% said their college experience was excellent or good!
Great for these types of students
This school is great for any student looking for a very straight edge student body. You see girls walking around in nice outfits, while guys are sporting the polos and kakis. So if you are looking for a school with a dry campus, don't mind learning/ building a relationship with God, and looking for a vigorous course load, love the warm weather, and want to be surrounded by friendly people, come here!

And this school is a Baptist school, but I am Roman Catholic and many people are also other religions/ or are Atheist. They don't push this Baptist faith on anyone so don't worry!

Am learning a lot
I've learned a lot from my professors here at Campbell. Depending on your major you'll be very close with your professor or just casual friends, either way you won 't be a number here.
Am enjoying being here
I come from a same town as well so being out in the middle of no where isn't bad. It is however between two cities, to the North is Raleigh and to the south is Fayetteville both about 45 minutes away. It's a very friendly environment.
Bang for the buck
Yes this university does cost some serious dough but it is a private school. So make sure you have the money
Tips for prospective students
New students will now have a freshman seminar starting 2011-2012 school year. They'll have guest speakers consisting of faculty and current students. They'll learn things about Campbell that us current students had to experience first since no one told us.
Great for these types of students
Campbell is number one in pharmacy and has a great law school. hoped this review helped you make a decision

Wow. Such an incredible place to learn, make friends, and begin a new journey in life. Even as a commuting student, the employees really help you transition into the colege life and atmosphere.
Tips for prospective students
-Make friends with people who have a similar major, you will see a lot of them and have a lot of the same classes.
-Make study groups and take advantage of them!
-Get to know the campus
-Get to know your professors, its a small school and you have the rare advantage of this.
-Get involved in clubs to meet people.
-Use ratemyprofessors.com
Academic Rigor
Very challenging, but manageable, especially with the teachers who actually care about you succeeding. You will have to study and work for your grades, but what else do you expect?
Dorm Life
I commute so I don't know about the dorm life.
Food and Dining
It is a small campus so there isn't much options between classes. Lillington is not far at all from campus though so there are more options when you have more time to eat. All the places right on on off campus have extremely friendly employees. Great atmosphere.
What to do for fun
The school recognizes that it is in an area with not much to do so they are constantly holding events to entertain students. Very fun! I would reccomend to even attend events out of your comfort zone because they will almost always please you as well.
Bang for the buck
Love the school! So worth every penny!
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus
Well there is Bacon Day, YAY! They hold many unique events that are well worth taking the time to show up too. There are many opportunities to ride a real cammel! How awesome?
Clubs and Activities
Many options of clubs!
Greek Life
Just recently started up.
Campus Safety
I feel very secure while I'm on campus

I am a student here.

The heart and soul of Harnett County, Campbell University is home to a small beautiful campus and excellent academics. There doesn't seem a lot to do in the Creek if you don't search and look for events. Most students love it here but they complain about general education courses and weekend deadness.
Tips for prospective students
Make sure to find a roommate or pray that you end up with someone that you can be friends with or at least tolerate.

Ask around people already attending for the professors to get.

Talk with professors and get to know them along with your fellow students.

Make sure you either have a printer that has ink and a lot of paper or you have money to print.

Once you are in a dorm it can take a long time to switch dorms, so pick the dorm you want to stay in.

Always get books from another source other than the campus bookstore.
Academic Rigor
4 stars for academics.

The medical field is rising and the hardest of the programs and courses offered here.

The Professor- students relationship is the most important t having the best academic experience. If the student doesn't care the professor doesn't care about giving the very best teaching (this is mostly true for math and science). If the work isn't done by the student the Professor doesn't help as much.

Academic excellence is continually being placed upon the student to take initiative for learning. Professors want to teach and they get more in depth and do the harder more challenging things wit the students that want to learn.
Dorm Life
Girl's/Women's dorms get the first attention and he best attention. Girl's dorms I would give a 4 for appearance for the freshman ones and a 3 for all the other ones.
Guy's get the run down dorms. They are the oldest and require a lot of maintenance from heat and a/c to mold and bats.
Previous years dorms were the place where all the bad things happened but now nothing criminal is happening and dorm life is improving. Students start to accept other dorm mates for their differences and try to talk to everyone.

There is always construction going on to renovate or build new dorms. It is only a matter of time when the male dorms will be made new and better.
Food and Dining
There are many places to eat and most of them take meal plan. Papa johns is the only one that doesn't take meal plan.
There is a Mexican place that is good depending on who is working. There is a burger place that is very busy at lunch since it began taking meal plan. There is a sandwich place that is like Subway.
There are 2 cafeterias one is dine in an the other take out. Breakfast is the great. Lunch and dinner at Marshbanks (dine in) is most of the time the same except for the home cooking which changes. There isn't a lot of variety.

More healthier options are gaining ground at Marshbanks.
There is ample seating everywhere.

There are also 2 mini grocery stores on campus, but they are about double what you would pay at a regular store.
What to do for fun
Dorm events are great to attend.
Sports and playing sports with friends is always good.
There are events that the activities board puts on that range from movies to trips( trips cost money).

There are free concerts and plays to attend.
Club events are essential to being involved on campus.
Community events are also great to be involved with to have fun.
The library is always opened and hosts events that are actually fun sometimes.

As at any college going out away from campus can be a fun time.
Bang for the buck
Its a private school so spend you time and money here as efficiently and effectively as possible.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus
at basketball games when our team is shooting a free-throw we raise our hands in front of us and wiggle our fingers.
Great for these types of students
small-campus orientated ,
non party ,
ones that want to learn,
easily distracted ,
ROTC
Clubs and Activities
An array of clubs for everyone and if you don't find a club that interests you start one.
Greek Life
Currrenty there are only 4organizations. All of which started in the fall of 2013/ spring 2014.

Campus Safety
The campus is mostly safe unless you count constant fire alarms every week that turn out to be nothing.
The campus safety is always willing to help out even f you lock yourself out of your room at 3 in the morning.

Campbell University is a great college for students trying to find a close knit community with small class sizes. The teachers are very in tune with their students and get information across quickly and accurately. Overall, this school is fantastic.
Tips for prospective students
If you are looking for a school in a big city with a lot of parties, this is not the college for you. There are parties and things to do around campus, but Campbell is not located in a big city where you can do anything. I would highly suggest this school for people considering entering their graduate programs. However, if you are getting a regular business degree or something of that nature, this college can give that to you, but for a whole lot more money than other colleges.
Academic Rigor
This depends on your major. I am a pharmacy major, and my classes tend to give many people a hard time. Honestly, I have only found one class hard in my two semesters, but most of my friends have found multiple classes giving them major difficulty.
Dorm Life
Depending on the dorm, you will have a different dorm life. I was in a suite style dorm which held eight people. There were two per room and one bathroom. The only problem occurred when some suite mates were not as cleanly as they should be.
Food and Dining
There are many places to eat on campus. With your meal plan, you get a certain amount of meals and camel bucks. Camel bucks can be used at Papa Johns, Quiznos, the Burger Studio, and Chick fa la on campus. Marshbanks and Shouse use the meals off of the meal plan.
What to do for fun
I mostly play sports. We have a ton of club sports and intramural sports that are very competitive. Otherwise you can go to the sporting, CAB, or club events. Also there are some parties that you can go to if you can find out where they are being held.
Bang for the buck
Depending on your major, Campbell is a great deal. This applies for everyone planning on going into a graduate program at Campbell. Otherwise, you are getting a very expensive business or education degree.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus
We have an annual Easter egg hunt where the golden eggs can get you a flat screen TV. The Alan Brown Challenge is a great relay race that involves many activities other than running.
Great for these types of students
Students wanting a close knit community feel on their campus. Ones that know how to have fun when there are not any events going on on campus.
Clubs and Activities
We have a plethora of clubs on campus. We have a street fair at the beginning of the year which showcases them all. Tents are crammed on the walkway with people showcasing their club.
Campus Safety
If there is ever a problem, campus safety is only a phone call or a yell away. Campus safety rides golf carts around campus in order to get to any disturbances on campus quickly.

Am learning a lot
I am learning more at Campbell University than I have throughout my entire education. The professors are very resourceful, and they know how to make the students understand the material.
Am enjoying being here
Campbell feels like home away from home. I feel welcomed everywhere, and the people are fantastic. Although it is far away from the big city, it really helps when it's time to hit the books! Raleigh is about 45 minutes away, so when I need a break from studying, getting away isn't too difficult.
Bang for the buck
Campbell is a private school, so it is more expensive than public universities. However, no price can be put on my education and my experience that I have had at Campbell. Most of the dorms have been remodeled, a lot of the campus is growing, the cafeteria food is decent, and everyone is welcoming. I'd say I am definitely satisfied with my decision to be at Campbell.
Tips for prospective students
Start strong, study hard, and stay focused! Remember, someone is paying for your school, so keep the grades up!!
Great for these types of students
Campbell is the school for students who enjoy southern hospitality, small campuses, and small towns!!

Campbell University is a beautiful and peaceful college. There are various activities to keep you involved and everyone is courteous. For the majority, class sizes are small and professors actually learn your name.
Tips for prospective students
Be prepared to enjoy campus life and get involved as soon as possible. A new student center is being built and will provide an awesome place for students to gather and enjoy doing stuff together. Do you best in high school and if your school offers the dual program with a local community college, sign up for some classes! This will help give you a feel for what to expect on the college level.
Academic Rigor
Class are TOUGH! But professors are very helpful and have open door policies. Tutoring is available most nights in the library. Stay on task and go to class. They do have a strict attendance policy, unlike many public colleges.
Dorm Life
I wasn't sure how I would feel about rooming with someone, but I actually love dorm life! The comradery between suite mates, hall mates, and roommates are wonderful and our dorm (Small Hall) is always having stress relieving nights and our RA's plan fun activities that we can all be involved in. Our dorm is a bit older, but still kept in good shape and our rooms are a fair size.
Food and Dining
I'm not real thrilled with the food, but that's just me! I like to eat home-cooked foods but Marshbanks, the main dining hall, it a bit of a hike from my dorm. There are several smaller fast food type places and I enjoy those on occasion. I love having a Chick-Fil-A on campus and a Starbucks! Yummy!
What to do for fun
Get involved! There are all kinds of activities going on. There are intramural sports, the Camel Crazies, who attend sporting events together, Bible Studies, etc. available. There is also a gym available for students and the new student center is suppose to have a bowling alley! Dunn, NC is not far from Campbell and there is a gym and bowling alley along with lots of places to eat.
Bang for the buck
Because Campbell is a private college, it is more expensive than other schools. However, scholarships can be earned to help alleviate expenses and the small campus life is much more my style.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus
There are so many of these! Just to name a few: Freshman move in day involves lots of students helping and the community coming together to help with those heavy boxes and nervous parents and students. That night, there are activities in Academic Circle for freshman to meet one another and get lots of free stuff!. They hold a Medallion Ceremony where freshman are presented with Medallions, which happens to be the only adornment allowed at graduation other than honors cords. Welcome week is the first week after freshmen move in and there are activities planned each night and MORE free stuff! There is a camel there throughout the year for us to ride...First home football game of the season, the FRESHMEN get to run through the team tunnel onto the field then sit with other Camels during the game. For Juniors, there is a special Ring Ceremony where classrooms are walked from the chapel to the convocation center before presentation. There are special services for Christmas and other religious holidays. These are only a few of the many traditions!
Great for these types of students
Campbell University is great for students looking for a smaller campus and wanting to be known for who they are and what they can do. Bible studies are a normal part of campus life if this happens to be important to you.
Clubs and Activities
As previously mentioned, there are so many clubs and activities! At this time, I am only involved with 2 Bible Studies and the Camel Crazies but I know there are a lot more!
Greek Life
CU does have Greek Life, however, I have not chosen to go this route at this time due to still acclimating to college life and my rigorous class schedule this year.
Campus Safety
There are constant patrols of the campus and emergency 'boxes' in various places. If you even feel you are in danger, you can go to the emergency box and press a button. They say someone will come and walk you to your destination. Security ride their golf carts all around campus and are constantly checking in with students.

Campbell is a wonderful school, full of wonderful individuals. It is sometimes too expensive for the quality of the things you're receiving. I cannot, however, see myself anywhere else for my undergraduate studies.
Tips for prospective students
Apply for as many scholarships as you can, this school is very expensive. Try to keep a positive attitude about everything. Find time to get a personal relationship with your professors.
Academic Rigor
Some classes are a piece of cake, while others are a tough pill to swallow.
Dorm Life
Most of the dorms have been renovated and they are nice, I love living in the suite that I do. We have free washers and dryers, a common area with couches, a table, a refrigerator, and a microwave. Only downside to living here is there is no stove available to us.
Food and Dining
There are so many food options on campus, however I would not recommend the cafeteria.
What to do for fun
Honestly, there is nothing to do around campus because it's in a rural town. Join clubs and find good people to hang with, and your college experience here is guaranteed to be nothing less than fun.
