this school is a nightmare, and the local social life is dead. there is not much opportunity in georgia after you graduate. ethnic last named people should beware. georgia employers are trying to get rid of all ethnics from georgia. if you put an ethnic last name on a resume, you will get no replies. do not expect a job after you graduate. foreigners who graduate from tech, expect to have to go back to your country of origin to find work. i had to leave georgia for my native home state of ohio after graduation, to find opportunity. i am a us citizen, however, i felt like a foreigner and unwelcome yankee at all times in georgia. the education i got was not much good either. when i graduated in '87, i was denied c++. the ee school said that cs school would not allow ee's any computer courses unless they were dual or computer engineering ee's. can you believe it!...... there is not a more important class for becoming a successful electrical engineer than c++, and they denied it to us. this says it all about what kind of creeps run the school and businesses in georgia. it should not be considered a learning institution. this school should loose it's abet accreditation !!!!!...........

I love Georgia Tech's location because you are so close to Midtown and then Downtown. I love attending concerts, so there are several venues close to campus. I also love the atmosphere of Midtown's shopping and dining. Downtown also has several attractions, including Zoo Atlanta, the Georgia Aquarium, Centennial Olympic Park, and Philips Arena.

Campus is right in the middle of Atlanta, so obviously there's plenty to do! Centennial park, the georgia aquarium, coca cola world, and CNN center, and phillips arena are all within a mile of campus. Atlantic station (shopping, food, movie theater) is also close by campus, and there's a GT bus that runs all week and gets you within walking distance of it. But that's not all. There's tons to explore within the city. Don't forget to take a break from the books, get off campus, and have some fun from time to time!

Don't be afraid to get involved. Personally, I love the invention studio, which is open to all students to learn practical skills in hobbies such as woodshop, stained glass, #D printing, and electric systems.

Outdoor excursions, intramural sports, club sports, and many engineering and major-specific organizations exist to get you involved. The Greek life is great as well.
