Do not wait until the last minute to complete assignments it could pile up your work load more than it needs to be, and we all need our sleep. Teachers are waiting during office hours, if you don't understand then drop by it also helps you build a relationship, which helps when you need recommendations. The pace of learning is quicker you only have 15 weeks to learn everything and a lot of work is going to be submitted in between.

Always get to know your teachers. Get to know them and take part in answering questions. I noticed that when I did this and would struggle in a class, they were more enthusiastic about helping me find ways to do better in their class or help me understand something I wasn't getting. Also don't be shy towards your classmates! You'll need them! When you get to know your classmates you can form study groups for tests with them. Oh and also study in the back of the library. It's the most quiet place on the campus.
