Room and Board The weighted average for room and board and other expenses is generated as follows:
  • (amount for on-campus room, board and other expenses * # of students living on-campus.
  • + amount for off-campus (with family) room, board and other expenses * # of students living off-campus with family
  • + amount for off-campus (not with family) room, board and other expenses * # of students living off-campus not with family)
divided by the total # of students. Students whose living arrangements are unknown are excluded from the calculation. Warm. Vibrant. Goal Oriented.
Betty from Gaithersburg, MD
Bowie State University is a small school with about 6,000 students. While mostly commuter, it serves those in the Baltimore-Washington metropolitan area and is easily accessible by public transportation. Most importantly, the campus is a tight-knit community where students and instructors alike feel like they are apart of an academic family.
Julius from Landover, MD
Bowie State is a great HBCU, that offers a variety of majors to include all. Students and Staff are all genuinely promotive of your goals. I would definitely recommend this school to family and friends.
Breanna from Baltimore, MD
I am a current student here at Bowie State University and I love my HBCU! It is a friendly, family environment type of school. They are a great help to students and wants students to reach their highest potential. The school's goal is to make it as comfortable and fun as possible to achieve your goals. They encourage students to be active on and off campus.Their space is limited for dorm rooms on campus but they provide other living accommodations.
