attending a community college is ideal because students are able to get their general education credits at an affordable cost. if you plan on attending lcc, i recommend getting involved with clubs or sports to make friends and connections. maybe get an on campus job or do some volunteer work to build personal relationships with other students. get to know the counseling and tutoring staff (all free) and don't forget to have fun. one main tip for prospective student to remember is if you don't know how to something, don't be afraid to ask for help - the staff at lcc are there to help and they love doing so.

Only take classes you can handle. (I'm taking 15 credits a semester and working part time and its a struggle.) Manage time wisely, (you may not have time to hang out with anyone cause you will have tons of work to do from ALL professors.) Whenever picking classes, always go on rate my professor and you can see how the professors are, (students all tell the truth on the professors so believe it)

Take advantage of the free resources like the job resource center to learn how to interview and to write an effective cover letter and resume. Get involved in student groups to meet other people and make friends. Take your studies seriously. Having a degree will make a huge impact on the rest of your life. If you don't know what you want to major in take a variety of courses and find something you enjoy doing. If you love what you do you will never work a day in your life. You will look forward to each day.
