I learned a lot during my first year at Ohio University. However, most of what I learned came from being outside of class because the classes themselves just serve to introduce and provide overviews of the courses. First year students typically are taking the general education tier requirements and a lot of the information will be similar to what was learned in high school.

OU is a beautiful, scenic school. You feel comfortable there and really get a chance to bond with other students in the small town nestled in the Southern Ohio hills. It gives you the opportunity to really make your college experience exactly how you want it to be with so many things to do.

I transferred to OU from Marietta College and I believe it was one of the best decisions I've made in my life. I had much anxiety being a minority student on a campus with about 30,000 students but OU offers so many organizations that cater to the needs of students of color. I also love that the campus offers 100+ organizations so getting involved was not difficult at all.

I have met some of the best and smartest people in just the few short months I have attended Ohio University. There are so many activities available to participate in, from organizations, to clubs, to volleyball games on south beach, and even carnivals. Almost anyone you meet at OU will go out of their way to make sure you succeed and have everything you need, because we're bobcats, it's what we do.
