One of my favorite things about A&M is how much there is to do. There is something going on every night. There are always people out and around, and so many student organizations.

As long as the students are around, there is no shortage of things to do. College Station is by no means a big party city, but it still takes very little effort to find things to do during the day... and at night.

College Station is home to the famous Northgate. It's located on the North side of campus, hence the name Northgate. At Northgate there's two pizza shops, a Freebirds, three dance halls, and six bars. On any given Thursday, Friday, or Saturday night, Northgate is where at least half of the 50,000 students will be. Even if you're not 21, it's still a blast. If you're only in College Station for one night, Northgate is where you need to be. Other than that, there's all the standard places to have fun: movie theaters, a bowling alley, putt-putt, etc.

Lots of Aggies enjoy spending their weekends a Northgate, where college bars, clubs, restaurants, etc. may be found. You can always run into students playing flag football, Ultimate Frisbee, soccer, etc. The student REC is also a good place to relieve stress and have fun. Football games are outstanding. According to some national survey, A&M has the best game days.

There are events every week around campus thanks to the hundreds of student-run organizations. There are film clubs, anime clubs, dance groups and computer groups to list a few. Around the city there are two movie theaters to choose from, a shopping mall, and an arcade/bowling/mini golf place called Grand Station.

During the week days I play video games with my roommate and go to the rec to burn some calories. On the weekends I get off campus and find a good place to relax and try the food in the college station area. It is a great home town environment and there is always something to do if you plan it!

Do anything you want whether its going for a midnight jog/walk/run. Join a club or an organization. There are over 800 different things you can do there at A&M. The Media & Reserves center in the main campus library allows you to check out all kinds of movies, CDs if you want to go check one out for free.
