    8ams and 9ams suck. If you live off campus, don't always rely on the bus system. And the mall is not a mall. It's a plaza, really. Bring a car if you can. It can sometimes get boring staying in town for too long. Make friends in your classes! Join clubs! And there's also a pretty good job finding resource.

    If you can, take community college classes as those (and not AP classes) count for GE credit. Additionally, join a club as soon as you get here to make lots of friends - like an ethnic, academic, or a sports one....there are so many to choose from here!!! Look at Rate my Professor before you choose your classes and pray you have a good pass time.

    Talk to all of your professors in their office hours, talk to your advisers, talk to staff and faculty. Get known. Davis is a huge school, it is 100% your responsibility to set yourself aside from the other hundred students in your class. Also, there are tons of resources on campus and also tons of internships and jobs, check those out because they're a great way to stay involved at school.
