Tuition is $6k per semester and so is room roughly. I think that is INCREDIBLE, compared to other schools. BUT, I think they could offer more financial aid, because not every college student can afford to rack up thousands of dollars in student loans.

Fairly decently priced for a state school, with in-state tuition prices. Conveniently located in the DMV area, lots of job/internship opportunities from the govt agencies around the area - think NSA, FBI, etc.

UMBC is very good at giving out scholarships and is a great deal for instate students. If you get a good scholarship, then it is worth it for an out of state student as well.

The quality of education is well worth the amount you pay for tuition. UMBC has its standards up there with Johns Hopkins and even Harvard without the outrageous prices.
