UVA is a fantastic deal for in-state students and I will say with confidence that it is the best university in Virginia. It is rather expensive for out-of-state students, like myself, but the opportunities are endless. Our specific schools (Nursing, Commerce, Engineering, etc. are top notch). UVA is well known across the globe and is always high ranked! It is a fantastic school!

Ok this is where UVA is weak, it's a top rated university and the price tag becomes large very quickly. Personally, I believe the cost is worth the trouble, but that's an opinion. If you wanted a high quality watch, you'd expect to pay a sizeable amount of money. Same for UVA, except we're talking in terms of life careers and goals, instead of material goods, which are even more important. The day to day cost of living is on par with any other university.

University of Virginia is considered a Public Ivy, so the quality of education is very much like an Ivy League School. Considering the quality of education, I think the tuition is reasonable for both in-state AND out-of-state. Ivy League Schools and other top-tier schools are expensive, but personally, UVA's tuition is relatively understandable in relation to its education level and quality of its facilities.
