Room and Board
The weighted average for room and board and other expenses is generated as follows:
(amount for on-campus room, board and other expenses * # of students living on-campus.
+ amount for off-campus (with family) room, board and other expenses * # of students living off-campus with family
+ amount for off-campus (not with family) room, board and other expenses * # of students living off-campus not with family)
divided by the total # of students. Students whose living arrangements are unknown are excluded from the calculation. For some institutions the # of students by living arrangement will be known, but dollar amounts will not be known. Carthage College is an extraordinary college providing extraordinary experiences. As a freshman I'm able to play competitive athletics in first rate athletic facilities, conduct research in biology, and travel abroad, while getting to know great people, enjoying good food, feeling safe, and having profesors that really care; I can't imagine going anywhere else; I definitely made the right choice!
I like the liberal arts aspect of Carthage College. I have been able to try many different types of classes that help me to know what I am interested in studying. They are very good at leading students in the right direction.

Carthage is about meeting new people and feeding off others ideas and outlooks on life. In most traditional colleges an intellectual development is highly stressed, but here you are encouraged to grow spiritually , socially, and emotionally into a vibrant contributor to society. Last if all students are heavily guided with classes but taught to enjoy the relaxed setting the college creates.
