Tuition, Cost & Aid

Affordability and Cost

Average Net Price Average net price for full-time, first-time degree/certificate-seeking undergraduates paying the in-state or in-district tuition rate who were awarded grant or scholarship aid from federal, state or local governments, or the institution. Other sources of grant aid are excluded. Aid awarded anytime during the full aid year is included.

Average net price is generated by subtracting the average amount of federal, state or local government, or institutional grant and scholarship aid from the total cost of attendance. Total cost of attendance is the sum of published tuition and required fees (lower of in-district or in-state), books and supplies and the weighted average room and board and other expenses.

Additional Costs
Room and Board The weighted average for room and board and other expenses is generated as follows:
  • (amount for on-campus room, board and other expenses * # of students living on-campus.
  • + amount for off-campus (with family) room, board and other expenses * # of students living off-campus with family
  • + amount for off-campus (not with family) room, board and other expenses * # of students living off-campus not with family)
divided by the total # of students. Students whose living arrangements are unknown are excluded from the calculation. For some institutions the # of students by living arrangement will be known, but dollar amounts will not be known. In this case the # of students with no corresponding dollar amount will be excluded from the denominator.

The cost of CSC is very little compared to other colleges and universities, but what's so great about it is that we are still very renowned college, especially for our science and art programs.
Laura from Valentine, NE
Relatively cheap compared to most colleges but the teachers are good and you still learn just as much as you would if you were paying more somewhere else.
Allyson from Rapid City, SD
$9,000 for tuition, NO PROBLEM!!! This is better than University of Texas at Austin, which asks for up to $25,000 just to go to school there full time.
Brittany from Spring, TX
Education has gotten extremely expensive but I think Chadron is worth the money. Although I wish it c willbe worth it in the end.ould be less expensive I think it
Shane from Burns, WY
This is one of the main reasons that I decided on coming here! Many of the colleges that I looked at, even with half tuition paid Chadron was cheaper! I'm glad that I chose it here because it is a phenomenal campus!
A small town Wyoming girl
I think Chadron offers a lot for very little. I would say most people here attend Chadron State because it is SO affordable. Even out of state tuition is still super cheap but the education is great.

So..Big bang for your buck!
Sophie from Germany
Its not that bad of a price
Carly from Pine Bluffs, WY
The cost of tuition is relatively cheap, but if you want aid to help you, you'll have to be prepared to fight for it. I believe the average cost posted on the website is $7,000 for tuition. And the tuition given by the educators is pretty good.
