Originally founded in 1886 as Wilmington Commercial College, Goldey-Beacom College is a 4-year private school in northern Delaware. GBC confers bachelor’s degrees in 41 academic fields of study and all undergraduates must complete a set of general education requirement courses regardless of major or concentration. All classes at GBC are held on a Monday through Thursday schedule, giving students a 3-day weekend every week. To mark the beginning of each new school year, GBC celebrates students returning to campus by holding a Welcome Back Carnival.
