Northern Arizona University is a 4-year public research institution in Flagstaff and a designated Hispanic-serving institution. NAU is home to nine colleges granting bachelor’s degrees in 12 academic divisions. To take advantage of its setting in the midst of mountains and the world’s largest ponderosa pine forest, NAU Outdoor Adventures offers a number of student trips to participate in activities such as rock climbing, snowshoeing, and whitewater rafting. For sports fans, NAU fields 11 men’s and women’s athletic teams known as the Lumberjacks.
The environment is very open and accepting, it gives everyone the opportunity to create a home. The curriculum is intense, however the instructors are more than equipt to teach college students, and willing to help outside of class. Overall, the University is absolutely life changing, and so far I've only spent a month there.

NAU is for you if you love the outdoors but still want the university atmosphere. It offers opportunities for students interested in many things, from studying abroad to playing Quidditch in a league. In my opinion, NAU is a perfectly relaxed yet quality campus.
