Established by the Order of Saint Benedict in 1889, Saint Leo University is a Roman Catholic liberal arts university in central Florida and the first Roman Catholic college in the state. Saint Leo is home to colleges of Business, Education, and Arts & Sciences conferring bachelor’s degrees in over 50 areas of study. Additionally, all students are required to take three electives in Religion and Philosophy regardless of major. The university campus encompasses Saint Leo Abbey, an active monastery that includes a professional car repair shop run by resident monks.
