With campus a short walk from the Mississippi River, Winona State University is a public institution in southeast Minnesota and the oldest school in the Minnesota State Colleges and Universities system. WSU is home to five colleges conferring bachelor’s degrees in over 80 academic fields of study. To get away from the classroom, Winona State’s Outdoor Education and Recreation Center provides instruction on kayaking, rock climbing, snowshoeing, and other outdoor pursuits. For those interested in the fine arts, WSU hosts the Watkins and Weber Galleries displaying the work of student and professional artists.
