    American River College is the oldest community college in Sacramento, Although recently they upgraded allot of buildings and it changed to a modern college. If you can't go yet to University start at American River college they have counselors that help you take the courses you need for transferring.

    - Try to avoid getting any morning classes, if you can! - Join a club or take a class that seems interesting to you, even if you're not required to. - The library and student centers are great for studying and socializing - Leave for school early; finding a parking spot in any parking lot here can be a hassle

    Print a map of the school prior to the first day, the parking situation is a little weird and at times very unsuitable. Know where your classes are! And get involved... there are plenty of campus clubs that can help you get the internships, letters of rec, etc. you need! All you need to do in the meantime is make those relationships and ask.

    For incoming students make sure you have an open mind in every classrooms. Also look into joining clubs which can help in make friends. Last but not least ask the teachers for help when needed because many of the professors are very friendly.
