Categories Comments Campus Safety 10 out of 10! bright garage and multiple on sight security guards as well as hired help.
Greek Life only one and its an honor society as well!.
Clubs and Activities Cheerleading, baseball, basketball, swimming, tennis, golf, dram/theater, student clubs, etc
Great for these types of students Fresh out of high school, undecisive, single mothers/fathers, an individual having to work 2 jobs whose wanting to go back to college, or someone who is not particularily financially stable but wants an education. EVERYONE!
Bang for the buck Most offordable college for the best of the best of education.
Food and Dining Sinclair has over 20 buildings, spanning over 7-10blocks. 10+ are used for classes, within these 10+ buildings I say there is 6 small food courts, and 1 large food court in the basement that is connected to atleast 6 of those buildings. Of course their are vending machines, usually 3-4 in each building. Other than on campus their are exotic/foreign resturants, bistro's, bars, ect.. in a 10 block radius of Sinclair, which also includes our historic Oregon District that is filled with our night life fun time...!
Dorm Life No dorms due to it being a community college, but very affordable housing, the cheapest in the state. Also University of Dayton is less than 5 miles away and their is numerous student housing. Sinclair is currently working with a local contractor in building 5-10 story apartments a block away and being sinclair student is a requirement. They have already bull dozed the area, so time will only tell how this will play out. Cross your fingers!
Academic Rigor I can't express enough how highly Sinclair is recommended to employers around the Miami Valley. I have heard employers on number of occassions say that they prefer Sinclair students over any around, stating that Sinclair students are known to be over prepared!! Yes we work hard. On a personal note: I had a friend taking the same Anatomy& Physiology class at Wright State University a 4 year college (15miles away) as I was here at Sinclair. Many times we would study together. My homework compared to hers was more detailed and more in depth than any of hers. She said, I'm glad I'm not taking this class there! I wasn't because 2 years later I can still identify 80-90% of that class do to how much I learned and this is for 70% of the classes I've taken and trust me I do not retain things easily, I'm the one having to read the chapter 3-4x before I comprehend. I'm Honored to be a soon to be Sinclair graduate! Hope this helps or atleast gives you an idea.
Tips for prospective students Sinclair is a great start for students who have just graduated high school, or if your in a career change, or if you need to work while attending college. Sinclair offers a wide variety of courses that are offered at various times and days, so it can fit anyone's schedule. They offer many course that transfer to 1000's of other colleges aroung the United States. Sinclair is very academically challenging and has professors, falculty, and peers willing to go out of their way to help everyone. Sinclair is also very affordable at $95-$101 per credit hour with flexible payments. I would highly recommend Sinclair Community College for your Associate Degree, Short term certificates, or even to take classes that transfer to save$1000's in tuition. Hope this helps and happy hunting. Mindy C.
In three sentences Sinclair is a diverse and affordable. Sinclair is known for over preparing their students and offer a vast range of academic programs with flexible classes throughout the entire week. I have had nothing but the best experience here at Sinclair with my falculty and peers that all will go out of their way to help you!

Categories Comments Campus Safety I am a small lady and I never feel unsafe on campus. The people are very nice and if you are lost people are quick to help you.
Bang for the buck The classes that I took are very informational and it was inexpensive. This school is so inexpensive that my school was able to pay for students to take classes with this school, and my school is not very rich.
What to do for fun Since this school is located downtown, there are many things around to do for fun.
Food and Dining The food court features delicious food that is open to college students and visitors.
Dorm Life This college does not have any dorms.
Academic Rigor I think that the academic rigor is great. The final projects always push you and the work is always relevant to the course.
Tips for prospective students Time management is key! If you can manage your time well, you will prosper at any college.

Categories Comments Bang for the buck Yes! This is a great starter college and just a college to go to get some classes out the way at a cheaper price then you would at a four year college.
What to do for fun The extracurricular activities that the college provides.
Food and Dining I have never eaten any food besides what snacks are in the vending machines.
Dorm Life Sinclair does not provide this.
Academic Rigor It really all depends on the classes in which you choose to take.
Tips for prospective students Focus on getting good grades and maintaing a good G.P.A.
In three sentences Sinclair is really a great college and I do not have anything negative to say about it. After attending Sinclair for a year I have really been exposed to a variety of races, cultures and religions in which I was not exposed to after attending the suburban high school I attended. In conclusion, Sinclair has really opened my eyes to a world of diversity that I have never been exposed to before.

Categories Comments Campus Safety Sinclair has a long standing history of safety on campus. There are help stations that call campus police located in the parking garage and around every building and in between. Campus police are very friendly and helpful in a crisis.
Greek Life none available
Clubs and Activities The provided clubs on campus meet around once a month and are very fun. It's very easy to make lasting friendships and can give a small needed break from classes.
Great for these types of students Speaking from experience, Sinclair is a great place for people just starting out of high school. With a casual school environment, it's very easy to feel safe and fit in. Also, individuals who have been out off school for a while, such as working moms or seniors, can feel at ease with such a wide diversity of students.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus There is a long standing tradition at Sinclair to encourage everyone interested to wear pink every breast cancer month on a certain day. Also like every college, rumors of haunted buildings float around campus and is featured in the campus paper every Halloween.
Bang for the buck Cheapest school in the state. Financial aid is available for anyone in need, and is very easy to obtain. There's also a payment plan for those who do not meet the requirements for financial aid.
What to do for fun A wide variety of clubs are available that meet around campus every month or so. Also there's a pool, fitness room and other physical fitness activities that can be signed up for.
Food and Dining There are small cafe's in most of the buildings around campus so you never have to go far for a snack. The main cafeteria is much bigger and has a wide variety of food from different countries. Or if that's not your thing, subs or burgers can be made specifically to your preference. Fruit, yogurt, or even cake and cookies can be purchased for dessert. Prices are very low for campus food.
Dorm Life There are no dorms at the moment, but there have been talks of providing them.
Academic Rigor Classes are really in depth, and can be geared specifically for transferring to a four year college. Most all of the teachers are available outside of class if you ask. A large majority of teachers are part time so it can be hard to stay with one professor. Also classes are only offered at certain times of the year, so it can be frustrating.
Tips for prospective students When you find a teacher you like, stick with them! Join a club, it's a great way to meet friends. If you need help, there's a tutoring center and many other places that will help with classes. Last of all, just because it's a community college doesn't mean you should look sloppy. Dress to impress!
In three sentences A stellar institution that provides a very casual learning environment. Gives one an opportunity to join school clubs to very specific interests, along with hosting guest speakers from around the world to share in their knowledge. Once a month they hold job fairs to supply present and future students with one on one contact with a employee of companies to help get their foot in the door.

Categories Comments Campus Safety They have police officers on campus property. There's almost always access to a signal station where you can request help.
What to do for fun There are ping pong tables, a Starbuck's in the library to hang out with friends at, and an extensive library to read and study in. It's located in the heart of Dayton so there are shops and restaurants nearby to go to during breaks and lunches.
Food and Dining They have very few options for vegans and some of the staff can't properly reply when asked the ingredients of the food they're offering. Other wise their fries and vegetable puffs are delicious and they have a wonderful salad bar.
Dorm Life Sinclair doesn't have dorms so I can't honestly rate it. I wouldn't want to live in the middle of downtown Dayton anyways. They are considering adding dorms for Sinclair.
Academic Rigor Some of the teachers want you to learn the materials and do your best. They may or may not offer you extra credit. It all depends on the teacher you chose. I've had a lot of classes that would be considered fun classes but, even those give out a lot of work. The curriculum needs work and can be challenging.
Tips for prospective students Use rate my teacher a lot before you pick a class. It can be a lifesaver. I recommend you sell your books online instead of doing the buyback because you get more value back.
In three sentences The financial aid department is rather unorthodox and highly unhelpful. The teachers very from great to horrible and the work load can be ridiculous based on who you take. All in all it's an average school that's very affordable.

Categories Comments Bang for the buck Will not really be able to get a better or cheaper deal in the state of Ohio.
What to do for fun The school does not offer much since it is a community college.
Food and Dining There is a pretty good variety of food available to students, and there are small eating areas and vending machines located all over.
Dorm Life I rated this one star since there is no option to live on campus at this school.
Academic Rigor Classes are generally worth the time and money required. you can take classes online or at several different campuses.
Tips for prospective students Talk to multiple different people, it is tough to get accurate and correct information the first time. talking to students instead of only faculty can be beneficial.
In three sentences very cheap and easy way to go to school and get basic credits. financial aid process and faculty can be unreliable and difficult. easy online access to pay, register, and take classes

What to do for fun This is a two year college in a not-so-social town, so you'll need to be creative. We do have theaters and museums.
Food and Dining The food is decent.
Dorm Life There are no dorms.
Academic Rigor I studied business and some classes are consuming, but not really fulfilling. I have since changed my major to Criminal Justice.
Tips for prospective students Do lots of research into your prospective area of study before speaking to advisors or enrollment.

Greek Life None! At least that I know of. I would love to join.
Clubs and Activities Unsure
Great for these types of students The library is a great place to read? Lol
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus We could use more of those.

Food and Dining I love eating at school. The main cafeteria has a variety of food. My favorite is the Philly cheese steak and waffle fries! Yum..
Dorm Life What dorms? Lol
Academic Rigor The school is very good with having accurate data. They update the information constantly.
Tips for prospective students I would definitely meet with an advisor my first year. It will help with starting an academic plan for your scholastic career. Try to branch out and meet new people. It's always good to have others in the class you can or email when you've missed a day. And never be afraid to ask for help. It is better to admit you do not know something then to do it wrong and look ignorant.
In three sentences Sinclair is a great school if you want small intimate classes and flexible schedules. They have free tutoring and free access to any learning center you can think of. A great physical fitness center but limited access if you do not have physical education classes.

Great for these types of students Prospective students One-track minded students
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus The campus is set up weird and finding each building is a task so every location is unusual.
Bang for the buck Least expensive school in Ohio and if you're looking mainly to further your education or get skills needed right away for a job, this is the school for you.
What to do for fun Not much to do.
Food and Dining Cafeteria is nice and food selection is nice but its small.
Dorm Life It is purely commuter school.
Tips for prospective students Get to the campus 20 minutes early so you don't waste too much time looking for a place to park. Time management is key but that's the case for success at any higher education institution.

Categories Comments What to do for fun There are a few culture clubs and the school newspaper, but there could be a lot more. I've seen other colleges websites that have all sorts of cool activities for students, Sinclair doesn't.
Food and Dining There are so many options in the cafeteria in building 7. You can even pay with your tartan card, which is convenient. There's also little nook and cranny food areas in almost all the buildings, very convenient.
Dorm Life This is not applicable because Sinclair is a community college, so there are no dorms.
Academic Rigor Most of the classes I've taken have been extremely interesting and have taught me a lot, not just about the degree I'm pursuing (English), but also about life. I love the teachers, they're very involved with their students' success. Some of the classes are too big, though. There are too many students for one professor to handle, so that gets distracting. The classes are not usually too fast paced, and not too slow either.
Tips for prospective students Don't think that because you're going to a community college you get to slack off. Sinclair is tough and rigorous; the same things are required of you here that would be at a university.
In three sentences Sinclair is incredibly diverse and has tremendous opportunities for a community college. The staff is very friendly, knowledgeable, qualified, and punctual. There are a lot of extracurricular activities, but personally I wish there were even more cool, fun options.

Categories Comments Campus Safety There are emergency call buttons around the campus. The Dayton police work right on campus as well. I've never felt unsafe.
Great for these types of students This school Is great for all kinds of students, probably because all kinds of students are going here. I'm an older student, and having classes with a younger generation really broadens the experience. Diversity is a good thing!
Bang for the buck Almost everyone I spoke with complained about having to take a course called Student Success. I had a great professor, learned many things to increase my academic success, made a new friend, and had fun ... all in one little class. Oh, and getting an A was much easier than I thought it would be!
Food and Dining Food is available in multiple areas, and the cafeteria has plenty of choices so you won't end up eating the same thing everyday. I especially like the salad bar and sandwich wraps! Starbucks in the library is another popular attraction.
Academic Rigor It wasn't as difficult as I'd worried it would be, but I did spend quite a bit of time in study/preparation for each of my classes. The professors seem to be willing to work with you if you run into difficulties, or at least point you in the direction of whatever help you might need. So even though the work isn't easy, you will find you CAN do it.
Tips for prospective students 1. Get to know your professors 2. Get contact information from at least one student in each of your classes 3.Don't be afraid to ask about anything you don't understand
In three sentences All of my professors really cared about my success, the career center was very helpful in determining my major, and because the writing center gave such insightful criticism on my How-To paper, I was able to get an A. Over all I give Sinclair Community College top marks!

Clubs and Activities there really isn't a ton, and if there are, they don't make a huge push to get involved.
Great for these types of students this campus is great for the students that just want to get it done. there isn't a huge level of community or student events. this works for me, because i just want to get done. moving on to wright state, i hope to get more involved on campus.
Bang for the buck it's by far the cheapest and most affordable college experience. they also make transferring a breeze, especially to wright state.
What to do for fun i haven't seen a lot of push on campus to get really involved. it's more of a 'just go, do your work and leave' kind of campus.
Food and Dining they have it all.
Dorm Life well there aren't any dorms.... but if there were i'm sure they would be great.
Academic Rigor as long as you pay attention and do your work, you'll end up just fine. make a friend or two to stay after class and work on assignments together.

Categories Comments Campus Safety There seems to be campus cops that walk around campus. Walking around campus I feel safe due to how many people there are walking around. However, I have gotten plenty of emails about cars being stolen so I feel there should be more campus police walking around in the parking garage.
What to do for fun There are many different clubs that you can join for fun.
Food and Dining There are 3 different places to buy food at Sinclair. The main Cafeteria has a variety of different foods to choose from. The other 2 places are more quick stops. The food is well cooked and there is so much to choose from that there is usually something to meet your cravings. My only complaint is that the food is expensive.
Dorm Life There are no dorms that I know of at Sinclair.
Academic Rigor Overall, academic rigor seems to be good. There are plenty of areas to study at throughout the buildings. Studying in the cafeteria can be difficult because of the noise and traffic flow. Also, the library can be so busy at times it is hard to focus. The best spots to study are sitting in the hallways outside a classroom.
Tips for prospective students To new students attending Sinclair I would advise them to go to talk to an adviser before scheduling for classes. Also, walking around campus and getting familiar with the buildings is a good idea to do before classes start. Also, talk to other students that may have taken classes that you will have to take. Most of the time you get good advise on what teacher to take and what you may need to do to help you pass the class.
In three sentences I would rate Sinclair an 8 out 10. Students and staff members at Sinclair are very friendly and helpful. Also, everything seems to be user-friendly.

Categories Comments Great for these types of students Students who are looking to start in a smaller environment and get acclimated to college routines or for returning college students or the non-traditional student.
Food and Dining There are a lot of dining options on campus and in the area. It's a little far from the main campus (actually closer to the University of Dayton) but Dewy's Pizza is the best!!
Dorm Life This is a Not Applicable section, as the Community College does not offer dorms.
Academic Rigor The course work is challenging, but expectations are realistic.
Tips for prospective students Allow plenty of time to get from class to class- although you may have one class in building 12 and the next in building 13, beware: they are literally on opposite ends of a fairly large campus!
In three sentences The classes and professors are accessible, friendly, and willing to help. Students have many options that make classes convenient and fun, as well as beneficial. It is a great place to gain knowledge at a reasonable price.

Categories Comments Campus Safety Great. Always right there if you need them, and safety alerts posted at all times!
Clubs and Activities There are so many clubs and activities always going on at Sinclair, I don't think anyone could go to all of them during the week There are lectures, workshops, culture outings, speakers on different topics, and clubs galore if you want to join.
Great for these types of students As far as the Mental Health Technician Program, the classes, except for the prerequisite ones, are truly geared for use in the field, and will give you a great thumbs up performance in your field if you listen, and develop your own style through the program.
What to do for fun Get into what's going on for the Week at Sinclair. They always have posts in the library or the bulletin boards telling you of different things that are going on at Sinclair every day of the week. Just look.
Food and Dining The Marketplace and other dining facilities are everywhere! If you can't find one type of food in one place, you'll find it in another. Between the Marketplace, the smaller dining areas in each of the buildings, and the vending machines everywhere on campus, I'm sure you'll find what you need every part of the day.
Dorm Life I commute and this is a community college, so we do not have dorms, but I am sure some of the students live off-campus and close. I wouldn't know about dorm life at Sinclair as it is a two-year college.
Academic Rigor The academic rigor at Sinclair is tough, but with that little extra push, it is not hard to keep up your performance in the areas that you feel you may have trouble with. Pull up topics from the web if the text doesn't make sense to you, and see if you can understand it a little better before going on with your assignments. Your performance can be achieved, so do not worry so much about the rigor, but your own personal set of skills.
Tips for prospective students Keep up with your studies. If you get behind in any of your courses, don't wait! Begin with a tutoring session or two just to bring you back up to where you left off.
In three sentences In my opinion, I transferred from another college to Sinclair in September of 2011, and have found that Sinclair has exceeded my speculations in terms of scholastic and performance skills. The Professors at Sinclair are dedicated and willing to help you out in any level of your academic achievement, and will g go out of their way to make sure you truly understand what you are expected to learn in your field, and also in the prerequisite courses. If I were to start all over again, I would do it the same way, making Sinclair my first choice in terms of academic achievement, academic counseling and academic performance.

Bang for the buck The tuition is something that one can work with if it means you're paying your own tuition and even if your parents are paying. They have a Payment plan available to help with costs. It's a great place to get 2 years of college checked off if you are looking to save money and move on to a four year college for a Bachelors degree.

Clubs and Activities Sinclair is well diverse and has many different groups. If you are looking to join a group her it will not be hard at all deciding in what group to join.
Bang for the buck Sinclair is one of the cheapest and most affordable colleges to go to in Ohio. It doesn't seem to sacrifice its education when it comes to the prices you pay.
What to do for fun Sinclair has many activities that go on during and after school. There are many groups in Sinclair that you can become part of. Sinclair also has open pool, gym, and weight rooms at posted times.
Food and Dining The food at Sinclair is pretty good. The cooks and workers do a good job at cooking the food and helping the customers out when they need help. Sinclair has multiple cafeteria's where you can purchase food and drink. Sinclair also has in every building vending machines where you can also purchase food and drink. Sinclair has a Starbucks in the the middle of the library which is pretty fascinating, but distracting from the noise. Sinclair's main cafeteria caters to a lot of people that work in surround buildings in downtown Dayton.
Dorm Life At Sinclair there isn't any dorms, nor is there any plans to build any with it being a community college.
Academic Rigor Challenges that you might encounter at Sinclair would be mainly parking in the morning. Sinclair does have a shuttle that runs to Welcome Stadium when the lots are full, but you have to make sure that you have enough time to make it to classes when that happens. Other challenges would be getting to know the floor plan of the campus. It is very big and can get confusing at times.
Tips for prospective students Tips for prospective students would be to make sure that you sign up for classes early to make sure that everything goes smoothly. If you have classes in different buildings, be prepared to walk a distance sometimes because Sinclair takes up five large city blocks.

Categories Comments Campus Safety Sinclair has very good security, as they have campus police officers patrolling the area. These campus police are actually official Dayton police officers in a different uniform. There are also several emergency points scattered throughout the campus, which have a telephone that connects people to the emergency services or Campus security.
Bang for the buck Sinclair's fees are the cheapest I have seen to date, even amongst other community colleges! My Pell grant covered almost all of my first year fees and supplies.
Food and Dining For a community college, Sinclair has pretty good dining options. There is an on-campus Starbucks and also several cafeterias, where you can get an (often needed) caffeine/ sugar boost! Also, being in the heart of downtown Dayton, there are several establishments outside, but near campus.
Dorm Life Being a community college, I don't believe they have dorms for students, as most students study online or live near to the campus.
Academic Rigor Lecturers and Teachers here can sometimes be very strict regarding assignment deadlines, but this is to be expected at college level education. Hand-in times are usually equally spread out, so I never feel too rushed with assignments.
Tips for prospective students If applying for financial aid, be sure to check the status of your application often, as sometimes you may have to provide further information. I had to provide W2s, but found out a little too late which meant I had to wait another half a semester before starting college.
In three sentences This college is dedicated to helping it's students to the absolute best of their abilities. They make enrollment simple and still manages to keep the process quick. Also, they have many resources dedicated to: financial aid, Study support, sport programmes and many more.

Categories Comments Bang for the buck It's cheaper than a lot of places and there are a lot of places that your credits will transfer to easily.
Food and Dining Their food is awesome, but sometimes they have trouble with variety. It's kinda hard to find something vegetarian friendly (and interesting to eat) besides salad.
Dorm Life There are no dorms because it's a community college.
Academic Rigor Some classes are harder than others and some are harder and way longer than they need to be.
Tips for prospective students Make sure you talk to your advisors every step of the way because something may change while you're in the middle of your program. Make sure you really know what your doing and what you want to major in or else you'll just waste your time.
In three sentences Sinclair was a really nice place to start college for me because it's was close and less expensive to attend, but after a while it began to really wear on me. Since the change to semesters I feel like I've just wasted time there because the classes are now moving at snail pace. And to add to the frustration, the hospitality department where I'm majoring in feels like it's in shambles and no one knows whats going on. I really got the run-around.

Bang for the buck Oh, and the best part: it's CHEEP! My tuition cost me about $85 per credit plus maybe $300 for books.
Food and Dining The food is so-so, but there are restaurants within walking distance. One plus is that the main cafeteria does take credit cards, cash and Sinclair Id's (you can put money on the Sinclair id cards).
Dorm Life There is no on campus living, students come in from home every day.
Academic Rigor The classes are all fairly small. You get a lot of individual help.

Categories Comments Campus Safety There isn't a problem with crime.
Clubs and Activities The clubs are as diverse as the student population. There is the Muslim student Association, The Allied health club, Secular Student Association among many others.
Great for these types of students This school is geared toward the non-traditional student. if you are twenty-year old student or sixty, you will definitely find your place at Sinclair.
Bang for the buck I believe that Sinclair is an untapped resource for the Dayton area. It is retraining workers caught in the economic downturn, while preparing others for four-year institutions. All of this while charging as little as possible.
What to do for fun There are a range of activities available to students: religious groups, secular groups, community service groups, academic groups and athletics.
Food and Dining The food is good.

Categories Comments Campus Safety There are a few incidents quarterly, but campus safety does a good job of alerting us and keeping us feeling safe. It also helps that the garage is always monitored, and if you can get into the garage to park, there is a connecting walkway that allows you to walk into the building without ever walking outside. Great during bad weather. Police is also only streets away.
Great for these types of students Those that want to get an education while being cost-conscious; those that wish to transfer to a university, but aren't ready at this time; anybody whose career path only requires an associate's degree; anybody who is unsure of what they want to do career-wise, but want to begin school and get their general education courses out of the way.
Bang for the buck You can't beat the tuition rate at Sinclair - seriously, my scholarships covered all of my time here and I had extra left over. Especially with no room and board costs and the cost per credit hour, you can't get a better price on an education.
Food and Dining There are various places within the building to grab a bite to eat, but try making it up to building 13 and tasting what the culinary classes are cooking up.
Academic Rigor It really depends on the class and professor. I've taken a couple classes where you really just had to show up to get credit, and others where I almost found myself falling behind because I underestimated the work load. Most professors take their classes seriously and require you to participate. Remember, classes at Sinclair can be compared to freshmen and sophomore classes at a university.
Tips for prospective students Although it is a community college, many professors have the same expectations that university professors do. Take your time at Sinclair seriously, and you will quickly be able to transfer to another institution for a higher degree.
In three sentences I would give Sinclair a rating of 8; although it's not a school that I can complete my bachelor's degree at, I am able to get credit for so many classes that will transfer to universities. The cost of tuition is hard to beat, and the amount of online classes they offer is great for someone who works full time, like I do. The staff, from professors to test administrators and advisors, are always helpful and polite, and it's been a great school to attend while still trying to figure out where I really want to be.

Clubs and Activities There are activities all around campus throughout the year. They are held all around campus and they advertise in the school paper. There are also clubs that students can get involved in.
Great for these types of students If you really like diversity and meeting new people, Sinclair would be a good choice for you.
What to do for fun One of the buildings is our physical activity center, and there is a stage where they hold events, but there is also room to hang out with friends.
Food and Dining The food and dining at Sinclair is great, a little pricy, but great eating. They have the main cafateria, but all around campus there are sub shops, that carry more than subs. They also have vending machines in every building if you need a quick snack.
Dorm Life There is not a dorm at this school, because it's a community college.
Academic Rigor Sinclair is great with the academic programs that challange you to your potential. Its hard work, but it's all worth it, because once I'm done I will be able to get a good job.
Tips for prospective students Take time to check out all the programs offered, and ask a lot of questions to know where everything is, and what step to take if you want to go there.
In three sentences Sinclair is a great educational experience, to further your career. The classes I'm taking will transfer to a college of my choice so I can recieve my bachlor's degree.

Academic Rigor When you attend Sinclair each will be advise to see an academic advisor. This is stress to help the student succeed in receiving their degree. The advisor will help you understand all Sinclair has to offer.

Dorm Life Sinclair doesn't have dorms.
Academic Rigor My classes were challenging, but I walked away learning something from each class. Teachers are available to help for the most part.

Categories Comments Great for these types of students It's great for students who aren't sure what they want to go to school for to still get pre-requisites at a lower cost. Also, it's great for students who work full or part-time.
Bang for the buck Sinclair has allowed me to save money by taking classes at a lower rate than at big universities.
Food and Dining At the Dayton campus, there is a food court with many different options.
Academic Rigor If you put in the effort and do the assignments, there shouldn't be a chance for failure in any course.

Clubs and Activities Student Leadership Association has done a fantastic job with having events and getting students involved. I actually started and was President of a poetry club that won the award for #1 Club of the Year (2009), but many clubs are always typically putting on events.
Great for these types of students Every student. Sinclair has students ranging from 15 years old on up. There a very good mix of people with different backgrounds. The best part is that everyone is social.
What to do for fun Get involved with marketing opportunities, meeting new people, going to athletic events
Food and Dining The food choices are good overall. They try to mix things up by offering different selections of food
Dorm Life Sinclair doesn't have any dorms available.
Academic Rigor This is the best transition for a student going from high school to college and those starting over. You're treated and held to the standards of college students. However, the smaller class sizes (as they are in high school) allows the Professors to know students individually which helps when students need that one on one connection

Food and Dining the food was really good love their pizza and paninis!!!
Dorm Life there is no dorms on campus.
Academic Rigor The courses are designed to be challenging but not so much that you can't learn. It all depended on the teacher that was teaching the course.

Categories Comments Campus Safety The campus police make themselves visible and available. They offer to escort students to their vehicles at night. I had a very late class on quarter, and my car was usually the last in the parking lot. Campus security guards would stay out there until I was safely in my car.
Great for these types of students Sinclair is a great financial choice for many people - adults seeking re-education after job loss, people needing certificates to remain competitive in the job market, adults coming back to school after taking a detour, and recent high school graduates hoping to save money on a college education.
Bang for the buck Tuition is $58.60 per credit hour for Montgomery residents. As an Ohio resident living outside of Montgomery County, I paid $90 per credit hour.
What to do for fun Sinclair offers varying intramural sports, and it is also fun to stay after class and catch the Tartan volleyball or basketball home games. Most of my free time there was spent chatting in the library with friends I had made on campus.
Food and Dining While I hardly ever ate at Sinclair, there is a large dining hall that serves a huge variety of meals every day, a smaller cafe across campus, and an abundance of vending machines. There is also a Starbucks located in the middle of the library.
Academic Rigor I didn't find any of the classes particularly challenging. I felt that I learned a lot, though. There were a couple bad teachers who didn't care to be there, but in general I felt like the faculty was there to help me learn and attain my degree - exactly what they should be doing.
Tips for prospective students Get an adviser and meet regularly. Programs have been changing recently due to the quarter to semester switch Sinclair is undergoing this year (2012).
In three sentences My experience at Sinclair was overall a very pleasant one. I had a job in the library and computer labs on campus, and because of this, and my desire to get involved beyond the point of just sitting in a classroom, I was able to meet some wonderful people, build close friendships, and come out with an Associates degree that I feel I really earned. I am now able to transfer to a four year university with two years of college under my belt for a great price.

Dorm Life sinclair is a community college, which means there are no dorms and you don't have to leave your current living conditions to attend this college. housing is completely off-campus and people come from many different counties and even states to attend scc.
Academic Rigor the professors at scc understand what some of the students go through and are willing to accommodate to every individual's needs. some of the programs are tough, but if you are willing to stick to it, you'll go far and see a very bright future.
Tips for prospective students the course schedules and times are flexible and financial aid is always available no matter who you are or what kind of student you may be. in fact, sinclair awards on average $80 million in financial aid and scholarships each year. in addition, community colleges are a great way to start your educational program and sinclair has over 100 transfer agreements with other colleges in ohio and other states. sinclair is not only limited to in-class courses though. scc offers over 150 online courses to make life easier for those who can't necessarily make it to campus. sinclair also has the lowest tuition rate for a college in the state of ohio, but also provides the education and the right skills to succeed in today's high demand jobs.
