    Campus Safety

This campus is extremely safe and campus security is always present.

    Greek Life

There is no Greek life present on the campus.

    Clubs and Activities

There are clubs and activities but not many people join them.

Great for these types of students

If you like a really peaceful campus and a more intimate teaching environment, this would be a great school to consider going to.

Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus

There are not any unusual traditions or locations located on campus.

    Bang for the buck

TCC is extremely affordable. The tuition is very low.

    What to do for fun

Joining the drama club proved to be extremely fun for me. I also made a lot of new friends.

    Food and Dining

Food and dining are okay. It is nothing extravagant but there are about 3 places to eat on campus.

    Dorm Life

The one downside to this college is that their are no dorms available for students. You will need to find a place to stay.

    Academic Rigor

The courses here at TCC are not as rigorous as a lot of other colleges.

    Tips for prospective students

For prospective students I suggest registering for classes as soon as the registration window opens, but before you register try finding the professor on RateMyProfessor or ask around to get a little insight on them before registering for their class. Lastly, I suggest going to the learning commons if you do not absolutely understand something and getting close with your professors.

    In three sentences

Tallahassee Community College is an awesome stepping stone to get to the next level as far as education wise. The teachers are extremely helpful and make sure to encourage students to get one-on-one time with them. Thee campus also has plenty of resources to help the students succeed.

Great for these types of students

Tallahassee Community College has great Disability Support Services for those with disabilities. They always ask how you are and always greet you with a smile. Coming here will be one of the best decisions you've made. The classes are just like going to a high school. Not too many, and you have better one on one time with your teachers. Making new friends is the least of your worries and everyone on campus is willing to help you find whatever you're looking for.

    Campus Safety

TCC has a great alert system that you can customize to what will reach you the fastest. You have options for text alerts, emails, and/or voice calls. Campus security is always visible and quick to answer calls.

    Clubs and Activities

TCC clubs get together in the Union to recruit new students and TCC itself has regularly scheduled activities such as games, yoga, and aerobics classes. The basketball team is actually quite good so games are fun to go to. Get out there and explore some IM teams as well

    Bang for the buck

The price of your education shouldn't bankrupt you and TCC is absolutely affordable. I am able to work to pay for my tuition in full as well as live comfortably enough.

    What to do for fun

There are concerts, clubs, hole in the wall restaurants, dive bars, and plenty of outdoor recreation space for those of you who prefer to not be locked in a building.

    Food and Dining

There is food literally everywhere. There is a small food court area in the Union but it's also just as easy to drive or walk to any of the local foodie spots. It's not a huge city, so it is fairly easy to access all sorts of food for your tummy's pleasure.

    Dorm Life

I don't believe TCC has any dorms, though the apartments in the area are decently priced and the bus system is pretty good to get you to where ever you need to go, so do not fret, you have options.

    Academic Rigor

It was challenging enough, but with assistance from my teachers, my questions were always answered in a timely manner and there was always someone you could count on to be of some sort of help to you.

    Tips for prospective students

Be open to interactions with new people from all walks of life. There is so much experience in the people around you, not just from your teachers.

    In three sentences

Tallahassee Community College legitimately surprised me. All of my classes are small and I have come to know my teachers very well. The one on one time was phenomenal in helping me to succeed at my degree.

TCC is a great opportunity to get an education at an affordable cost.

    What to do for fun

Nightlife is abundant in Tallahassee from the strip (Tennessee Street) to the newer College Town venues, there is much to do.

    Food and Dining

Jim and Milts, a Tallahassee tradition, is highly recommended!

    Academic Rigor

    Depends on the course.

    Tips for prospective students

Sign up for classes early for the best professor and time offerings.

    In three sentences

TCC embraces the down home college feel. Courses are relatively small in size so there is much opportunity for personal attention from the professors. There are numerous on-line offerings that allow course completion remotely.

    Academic Rigor

The professors are helpful but you have to make sure you are doing your part as well. Their web access system: Canvas, is really helpful.

    Food and Dining

Close to your usual fast food places, it's okay. The cafe within the school is pretty good and so are the dining hall selections.

    In three sentences

TCC's campus is actually quite beautiful, filled with great sights and close to good food spots. The professors are great and help you achieve what you set out. Lastly, there are great scholarship opportunities not many people take advantage of so you'd have a great shot at getting them by just applying!

    Dorm Life

I stayed at home so I have no input on this.

    Academic Rigor

TCC is not an easy school. I would say it's fair. Some classes, depending, can be challenging. The great resources and professors make passing easy though!

    Tips for prospective students

Students should apply early so they can get a spot in their preferred class. The class sizes are small-which is good but that means they fill up faster too. Students should definitely take advantage of the amazing advising center at TCC, too.

    Campus Safety

Campus safety is good, but it could be better.

    Clubs and Activities

The college has a few clubs but the clubs they do have are very great. Right now I am a part of the International Student Organization that presents a lot of fun activities as a club and also organizes other community events.

    What to do for fun

The school is located in town, so there are many options for fun.

    Food and Dining

The only food options on campus, are subway and two restaurants ran by the school, which reminds me of the bad high school cafeteria food.

    Dorm Life

As far as I know, there are no dorms, it is a community college.

    Academic Rigor

Some courses are either really hard or really easy.

    In three sentences

It is a fair sized campus, not too big not too small. So far I have had a very great experience, you meet a lot of well- rounded people from in-state to people from out of the country. And there are small classrooms, which allows the professors to work with you more efficiently.

    Bang for the buck

Everything is cheap or free. nothing pass 10, unless it's a concert they're usually 20 if you buy the ticket before the show. Everything is cheaper if the tickets are purchased like a month or week before the event. food is cheap. Hungry Howies pizza, large for 5 dollars

    What to do for fun

1.Join a organization. Student organization usually keep students pretty busy. FSU and FAMU org allow TCC students to join their clubs. 2.On campus events on Florida State and Florida A&M University campuses. there's usually a event going on everyday. Non fooling. 3. Dorm Life

There isn't dorms, but there's student apartments walking distance from the college. They're literally across the street from the college. It's cheap housing for 345-500 a month, some are all inclusive. Don't be discourage that they're aren't dorms. The student housing are like dorms, but better. Most student pay their bills with their financial aid refund. What student apartments include: Personal room Bathroom inside room shared kitchen and living rooms computer labs pools Fun rooms tanning rooms movie theaters etc.

    Academic Rigor

Make sure that you do well on you ACT and SAT. If you don't do well, you'll have to take a pert test, which is used to scale how knowledgeable you are on reading, writing, and math. If your SAT/ACT or pert scores aren't well, you'll have to take remedial classes which isn't bad if you do well. I advise that you try as hard as you can to not be placed in those classes. Also, if you're not sure what major you'll want, make sure that your adviser give you all the accurate standard AA classes. It give you time to complete those, and once you've decided on a major you can take the classes for you major, as the last 4 to five classes before you transfer. It's important that you're adviser is aware of what you specifically want because they'll give you what they think is best for you, and it can mess you up because you'll be taking a lot of classes you don't need. Classes are great if you place your professors in RATE MY PROFESSOR.COM to see how well they're are. You'll have a smooth college year(s) by doing so,

    Tips for prospective students

    1. Take advantage of all of the college resources. To do this, it's best that you take your time and surfer through the college website. I've found so many amazing things by doing this. The scholarship, leadership, mentor, and academic success I have for just suffering the schools website is extraordinary. Once you've suffered the website and see things that intrigues your attention, contact the coordinator of that specific organization etc to set up an appointment to see them. Ask as many questions as possible for accurate information and opportunities. 2, Use the Learning Commons resources. 3. Just because it's a community college doesn't mean you can't participate in clubs/organizations. They're just as fun and you can obtain plenty leadership positions if you apply.

    In three sentences

It's an amazing school for anyone. It's far from being the typical boring community college everyone dreads to attend. I give Tallahassee Community College a rate of 9.

The campus police are more effective and efficient than some city police forces, the number is basically plastered on every wall around campus.

Great for these types of students

Great for students desiring a flexible class schedule.

    Bang for the buck

Tuition, class prices, and other costs are super low. If you aren't sure you'll be able to afford the big school this year, two years at TCC and a transfer to FSU/FAMU/Other colleges will save you a TON.

    What to do for fun

Tallahassee can be what you make of it. There are tons of student events at fsu, famu, and tcc. With the right network, parties are plentiful. However it's easy to get sucked up into that â?? With balance, Tallahassee and TCC can be fun and educationally rewarding.

    Food and Dining

Tons of vending machines and on-campus eateries, however in this instance tons means about two places on campus you can get food, and like a billion vending machines.

    Dorm Life

Off-campus living is basically a must, which can be costly. Finding roommates in Tallahassee, however, is super easy, and the earlier you do it apartment complexes/college living give cheaper rent prices.

    Academic Rigor

Courses are fast-paced in some respects, not as slow as high school. Classes are sometimes one day a week, and you're expected to more or less learn the material on your own. Which is difficult, but such is college.

    Tips for prospective students

Apply early. Instant acceptance is no reason to be lazy about it, if you do it earlier your classes are easier and your financial aid is more. Do it early, get it out of the way as soon as registration is opened up. Do the first available orientation, take the classes you need over fun or easy sounding classes.

You get the same education for so much less and your degree that you receiver (if you continue on to a university) does not say you went to TCC or anything, you get the same degree as any other student that went there. It is under priced for sure and is one of the best financial decisions I ever made.

    What to do for fun

I absolutely love campus, I go to the gym all the time where I can take kickboxing, spin classes, and tons of others they offer for free! Because the school is smaller than FSU, the gym classes always have room for you and you and its a comfortable size. It really is fantastic and I am so glad I chose to be here.

To get places in life you need to have connections and know people, and that all starts with getting involved.

    Campus Safety

TCC has great security and the campus police take their job very seriously. For example, any campus police officer will transport you to your car on their go-cart if you feel the slightest bit unsafe walking to your car from any location on campus. They are typically seen throughout the day, so if they are needed they are not hard to find. The last thing you want is to be in dire need of help and then you have to go hunt that help down.

Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus

Honor students are somewhat automatically placed into a club of their own. There is an exclusive honor study room for honor students only. Honor students can go in there any time to study and/or socialize. Also, everyone raves about the TCC Help Center. The Help Center has designated areas where you can get help in about every single subject and class taken at TCC. There is no cost and no required hours to use the Help Center. Most of the people who assist you in the Help Center are grad students or professionals from FSU. Today, I have run into students attending FAMU using TCC's Help Center and not FAMU's because of how great it is.

    What to do for fun

For fun there are theatre productions that occur throughout the year put on by students and staff of TCC. TCC has a lot of food festivals and what is called Open Mic Night on some Fridays. Open Mic Night is a talent show in which you can participate in if you choose and showcase your talent. There are trips throughout the year that are easy to sign up for. One trip was to Colorado and the students who went did snowboarding. Another trip was to Canopy Trials in Georgia where students did horseback riding. These trips are open to everyone and the lowest cost I have seen is $120. Not that high.

    Food and Dining

The cafeteria is a little small, however the food is great. TCC has an on campus Subway and McCormicks. There is also a cute little cafe that sells coffee drinks, smoothies, baked goods, and wraps. McCormicks sells burgers, chicken tenders, fries, and other foods of the like.

    Dorm Life

There are no dorms on campus at TCC. However, there are many college apartment complexes nearby within an easy walking distance. A few of these apartment complexes are luxury apartment complexes with great amenities. My rating of 4 out of 5 stars is for the close proximity of the apartment complexes to TCC plus how good the upkeep is.

    Academic Rigor

A lot of the classes I would say are fairly easy. They give you the learning tools and information needed, and manage to be fairly easy to pass. I have taken both classes online and on campus at TCC. Both are structured differently. One or the other would be best for you.

    Tips for prospective students

I would encourage prospective students to ask questions when they don't know. It is very easy to not ask questions when you need to because you think the question you have is dumb or that no one on campus will help you. I have found out personally, that is not the case with the people who work at the Tallahassee Community College (TCC). All my professors so far have been very helpful and cared about my grade. That is the biggest tip I have for prospective students. Ask your questions!

    In three sentences

I have been attending Tallahassee Community College for one year and a half now and would give it a smashing five out of five stars rating with no doubt. The entire staff including professors have been nothing less of helpful, genuinely concerned, and even caring towards me. The help that they provide is rare in many campuses.

    Campus Safety

I felt safe on campus. There is a campus police department (real officers, not rent-a-cops). You frequently see officers patrolling the parking lot and sidewalks of campus. I never witnessed any violence on this campus.

    Greek Life

There is a Greek organization on campus. I am not affiliated with them; however, every year they have some type beauty contest where they present themselves nude before judges.

    Clubs and Activities

From student government, to pride organizations, and black student union - this school has a variety of clubs and opportunities to for just about anyone!

Great for these types of students

The following students will succeed here: adults returning to school, home schooled, students with disabilities, military service members, and minorities.

Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus

I am not aware of any unusual traditions. The art work on campus is pretty weird though. These pieces of 'art' look like jet engine parts.

    Bang for the buck

TCC has one of the best tuition rates in the nation, and a very high transfer rate (67%). There are so many resources available to students that there literally is no reason to not succeed here. They have a full library, complete with computers, a learning commons, and much more.

    What to do for fun

You can get involved in the performing arts, sports, and every summer TCC has extremely discounted activities. Last year we went to Universal Studios for only 80 bucks!

    Food and Dining

There aren't a lot of options for on-campus dining. You have your basic pizza or sandwich options.

    Dorm Life

    This school doesn't have dorms.

    Academic Rigor

I found the classes here to present just the right amount of challenge. Some were much harder than others, of course; but, the learning commons and professors are almost always available.

    Tips for prospective students

Use the learning commons! The learning commons is your free access to tutors for all of the core subjects. Also, if you plan on transferring to FSU as a transfer student, watch your GPA! You must have a 3.0 to transfer.

    In three sentences

This school has small classroom sizes with a great instructor to student ratio. The grounds are beautifully kept, with a lot of places for students to gather and work together. This school has matriculation agreements with Florida State University!

At TCC you immediately begin working on your major. There are very few elective classes that you need to take.

    What to do for fun

Tallahassee offers a wide variety of activities ranging from internet cafes to shooting ranges.

    Academic Rigor

The classes, especially summer sessions, are academically challenging.

    Tips for prospective students

Have your career goals in mind before you speak to an advisor as that will eliminate signing up for classes that are not needed.

    In three sentences

TCC provides smaller class sizes which enable the professors to work more closely with each student. There are a multitude of study groups available to assist you. The professors are readily available on a regular schedule.

    Campus Safety

The campus is very safe to walk around on. I have never encountered any dangerous situations on campus and have only heard of a few altercations taking place on campus.

    Greek Life

TCC itself does not have a Greek life, but some fraternities at FSU will admit TCC students to join and participate in the FSU Greek life, which is very rich in tradition.

    Clubs and Activities

I myself have not participated in any clubs at TCC, but they have several clubs to choose from, should a student be interested in joining any. TCC has a theater program for students interested in the performing arts. It also offers classes for those interested in the arts and music. There are some sports teams for athletes such as basketball and baseball. Intramural sports are also offered by the school.

Great for these types of students

Tallahassee Community College is a good school for any general transfer seeking students. It also has a very good Dentistry training program, as well as classes for Lively Technical Institutes. TCC offers firefighting and police training programs too.

    Bang for the buck

TCC is a relatively inexpensive college, especially for Florida residents. If you cannot yet afford tuition for a state university, TCC is a good, cheap option to complete your first two years of college.

    What to do for fun

TCC has a gym with a full weight room, two basketball courts, and a dance studio. TCC offers several intramural sports and has some sports fields. TCC also offers recreational courses for those interested.

    Food and Dining

The Student Union building provides several options for food, including a subway, and has a nice dining area to enjoy meals and mingle with friends.

    Dorm Life

There are no dorms at TCC. It is a commuter college.

    Academic Rigor

For most subjects TCC is a pretty easy school. There maybe some subjects that are a bit more difficult, but I have not found the work to be extremely exhausting.

    Tips for prospective students

I would advise prospective students to frequently check their emails, blackboard, records, etc. If you attend all your classes and do all your homework, you'll do very well. Most teachers give study guides for their tests, that explain what you need to know in a direct manner.

    In three sentences

Tallahassee Community College is a fairly good college to attend if you are seeking a AA degree and the possibility of transferring to a university, to achieve a Bachelor's Degree. The teachers are mostly friendly and nice, and most classes are easy enough to pass. The student body is very diverse, which provides for a chance to meet and interact with students from many different backgrounds.

    Tips for prospective students

While this might be wishful thinking, it's best to know what major you're interested in before you start signing up for classes. It would be irritating, to say the least, to save several classes and ultimately choose a major that they weren't required for.

    In three sentences

Tallahassee Community College is a great place to enter college. It's cheap, quick, and you learn just as much as any university. Along with the welcoming and helpful staff, TCC is a great college to attend!

    Campus Safety

All I can say is that the Tallahassee Community College Police Department is the best !! I have had some night courses that I've had to attend at the campus. But no matter what time I left the campus, I've always felt safe and have never had any issues with regards to safety.

    Greek Life

The Phi Theta Kappa International Honor Society is the only Greek life on campus. I joined this semester and so far, being a member has been a wonderful experience.

    Clubs and Activities

There are activities such as Rajun Cajun and STU-FAC day where the students and faculty participate experience contests, exotic foods and different cultures.

Great for these types of students

This campus is great for all types of students !

    Bang for the buck

Shawn Einarson is the best person to consult with for advisement, Dr Melissa Soldani is the best history teacher to have, and Mr. Christopher McNally is the best college prep instructor to learn from.

    What to do for fun

For fun, there are different trips offered, contests, concerts, and comedy shows, to name a few, all hosted by Campus Life and the Student Organization Council.

    Food and Dining

The food and dining is good. There's a pizza place with the best garlic rolls in Tallahassee, there's also a Subway, and lastly, a place called McCormick's Deli. These restaurants are all located in the Student Union Building.

    Dorm Life

There are no dorms on this campus, as it is a community college. However, it is my understanding that the apartments in the area are great as far as location, price and amenities.

    Academic Rigor

The academic set up at Tallahassee Community College is very easy to comprehend and understand.

    Tips for prospective students

One thing I would advise a prospective student is to be sure of the degree area that they want to pursue for financial aid purposes. If a student starts taking courses in one degree area and then develop the habit of changing the degree area, there is a possibility that the student will have to either pay out of pocket or with a student loan for their classes. Another tip I would advise a prospective student is to take advantage of the Learning Commons and other student resource areas on the campus. There are professors waiting to sit one on one with you in the Learning Commons during their office hours, just to make sure you actually understand what it is you are learning; and that, aside from God in Heaven, more than any other resource on the campus, is why I, after finishing high school in 1998, am graduating this term with Honors, I am receiving two degrees at the same time, and I'm also a member of the Phi Theta Kappa International Honor Society Rho Tau Chapter !

    In three sentences

Attending Tallahassee Community College has truly been a blessing! The Professors and the staff members that I have come in contact with during my time here, all have a genuine care and concern about their chosen professions, their students and their customers. Tallahassee Community College also has a beautiful spacious campus with excellent degree programs and helpful student resources, such as the Learning Commons, the Library, and free Wi-Fi.

    Food and Dining

In the student union building, there is subway, voltage cafe, mccormicks deli.

    Dorm Life

There are no dorms on but there is a program called student housing that will help you find an apartment with roomates that you like.

    Academic Rigor

The work is easy once you put your mind into it.

    Tips for prospective students

Do not procrastinate because the workload can get crazy but beside that the professors want you to improve your skills and weakness before leave the class.

This school is extremely awesome and fun. There is always something to do to further your education no matter what your major is. The staff is always willing to help out a student with whatever question they have on their mind.

    Campus Safety

tcc police and public safety officials roam the campus constantly, and since the campus is relatively small, there is little land that they cannot cover.

    Bang for the buck

tcc classes are relatively inexpensive, and most students are eligible for some sort of financial aid. the amount of facilities and activities you will have access to (like free printing in the library, or the free tutoring in the learning commons) makes tcc well worth the money.

    Food and Dining

inside the student union tcc has multiple restaurants, including a subway, a pizza place, and a place, whose name i don't know, that makes really tasty hash browns. many students and faculty walk across the street to the wendy's on the corner too.

    Dorm Life

while there are no real dorms at tcc (many students are local and live at home), there are several affiliated apartment complexes right across the street that are actually quite nice.

    Academic Rigor

tcc teachers are aware that it is a community college, and that many of the students attending may have jobs, families, or other responsibilities to juggle, so the workload is never excessive. of course some classes are more challenging than others, but 99% of the time, if you show up and participate in class, you can earn an a or a b. even so, the majority of the teachers are very thorough in their teaching- you may not have much work to do, but if you want to, you can learn a lot here.

    Tips for prospective students

look for things to do! tcc has many great ways to get involved that you may not notice at first, especially if you live at home and only come to school for class a few times a week. we have intramural sports ranging from flag football to volleyball, all sorts of clubs, and even a few performing ensembles.

    In three sentences

despite the stigma against it among many students, tcc is a great place to receive a basic education. almost every teacher i have had has been magnificent; they love what they do and want students to learn. the only downside (in my opinion) is that many of the students are not at all motivated, and the workload is rarely challenging.

Great for these types of students

It is great for any kind of student. If you don't know what to do with yourself but want to go to college, a community college is better than a university and this school is perfect for those. I know what I am doing and it is helping me knock out my prerequisite.

    Tips for prospective students

For starters, if you can, get as many credits out of the way in High School as possible. You will not have to worry about paying for those classes, and you will be ahead in the game a little. If you can not do that, there are other things you can do to make sure you do well. One would be picking your teachers wisely. Of course you have the teachers that do not teache well or a strict. You can use ratemyproffesor.com, but be careful, cause they may not always be true. Another good tip would be to ask students who they took and they liked. You can get a lot of options from that and look for the classes with those teachers that fit your schedual. Of course studying is a bit part of it all and they more you study and practice, the easier it can be. Also, go to class. Even if the teacher says they don't do attendance, which most do, you can miss out on a lot.

    Bang for the buck

For the price you pay to go to TCC, it is more than worth it. It is cheaper then a university and you are getting the same exact credit. The class rooms are smaller, so you can ask your teacher questions during class instead of waiting until they have time to try and get an answer. You are paying for this, and getting a little bit better quality than people who go to universities.

    Am enjoying being here

School is school, and not everyone can enjoy going. I like it for the atmosphere and the people there. People at TCC are usually very friendly and willing to help and talk to you. There always of course the people who seem stupid, mean, or rude, but the best thing about college is that dealing with them is optional. The teachers are also very friendly and willing to help you understand things easier, just as long as you respect them and do not disrupt the class.

    Am learning a lot

I have been taking most of the regular classes to get my AA degree to be able to transfer. I have learned and I am still learning a good bit from my teachers. Some teachers just give you assignments, and don't give you a rubric, where others can tell you what format to use, like MLA, and then change it how they want it. Not only are you going to learn about the subject at TCC, but you will also learn how to follow directions. I think that college is not supposed to be difficult, but a puzzle. You have to learn how to follow directions, because if you miss one little thing, it can ruin your grade.

This is a wonderful place to transition, it is almost indistinguishable from high school except for the scheduling. If you liked the class environment from high school, you will love the environment at TCC.

Great for these types of students

At TCC students will feel comfortable because of its friendly and diverse environment. And it’s also made very accessible for students who maybe disabled. Its Great for all types of students.

    Tips for prospective students

Students will want to register for classes as soon as possible considering that the preferred class times will go fast.

    Bang for the buck

TCC is very reasonable especially when a student is comparing the credit hours to FSU or FAMU. At TCC its about $75 per credit hour, at FAMU its about $98 per credit hour and at FSU $221 per credit hour. Yes the class room sizes at TCC are smaller. But that is actually a good thing. A teacher cannot possibly help and teach every student in a class room with 100-300 students. Its unreasonable and not fair to the students working hard to succeed. At TCC, students will get the quality, attention and help they deserve and their monies worth.

    Am enjoying being here

TCC is a very beautiful Campus. On sunny days, students with art majors are outside painting the scenery. On Thursdays we have Market days, which is very cool because international students will bring art and souvenirs from their countries. And there is also campus entertainment. They hold several events throughout the semester. There is music, contests, prizes and free food. At TCC there is always something to do and students won’t get bored.

    Am learning a lot

The professors at TCC are very dedicated to their work. They really care about their students and students can tell by all the passion they show when they teach. During lectures in class they take time to answer questions and won’t move on until the whole class understands the course work. Students may even find it helpful to visit their teachers during office hours. Another great place is the Library and Learning Commons; students can study and if they need help, there are tutors in the learning commons offering a helpful hand. All of these things put together makes for a great learning environment!

Great for these types of students

This school is great for students who are independent, because of the apartment you would have to get, outgoing, because of the amount of different people from all over the country who attend, and ready to learn and work hard because although they give you the attention you need and are there for you, they do not give you any more slack than at a university.

    Tips for prospective students

Do not underestimate TCC or any community college because you think it's not the same or not as good as a university. I can honestly say, living with a university student, that I get the same education if not more attention and focus. There are usually 30 people to a class vs. 300 which is always a plus. The campus is huge and the only difference is that you don't live on campus. There are plenty of places around TCC that are walking distance from campus, and TCC is very close to FSU and it is in the heart of Tallahassee.

    Bang for the buck

If you have Bright Futures like me, it is a no-brainer. You get the same education for so much less and your degree that you recieve (if you continue on to a university) does not say you went to TCC or anything, you get the same degree as any other student that went there. It is underpriced for sure and is one of the best financial decisions I ever made.

    Am enjoying being here

I absolutely love campus, I go to the gym all the time where I can take kickboxing, spin classes, and tons of others they offer for free! Because the school is smaller than FSU, the gym classes always have room for you and you and its a comfortable size. The campus is beautiful and every Thursday they have a marketplace on the sidewalks where locals sell their handmade jewlery, sunglasses and art. It really is fantastic and I am so glad I chose to be here.

    Am learning a lot

The teachers at TCC also teach at FSU so the education is very valuable and I am learning more at TCC then I've learned my entire four years of high school.

Great for these types of students

TCC is a great college for ANY student. Being at a community college you really get to see a huge diversity of people. From people of any age, to any ethnicity you will definitely fit in. Also, with having such a great diversity of people you get to know others and their culture. Everyone at TCC is very welcoming and it really adds the the great atmosphere that is already here.

    Tips for prospective students

You wouldn't go on a trip without planning a little, so I suggest looking into the classes and teachers you want to take. For those of you on Bright Futures, make sure you pick your classes wisely because you only get so many credit hours. Meet people in your classes and see if you can split the price of books with them, because they are VERY expensive. Also, if you meet people then you have a friend in case you miss class one day, but that won't happen now will it! One thing you should definitely do is GET INVOLVED! Join a honors group, clubs, work somewhere on campus, help out in the Learning Commons, do something! To get places in life you need to have connections and know people, and that all starts with getting involved. But most of all have fun while your in college. Your only here once, so live it up and learn as much as you can.

    Bang for the buck

You do get your bang for your buck at TCC. The classes are more than worth it, and I suggest you take as many classes as possible, learning is always something you can get more of. If you are on Bright Futures make sure you are taking the classes that you need and not just random ones to pass the time or take the easy way out. Once the money for those credits are out, you're paying out of your pocket for classes.

    Am enjoying being here

School is definitely just school, but TCC is a very nice place to be. This is definitely one of the nicest community college campuses around Florida. There is always something going on at the campus whether it's an athletic game or just the market place Thursday. With it always being so busy around that just means that there is always someone to talk to on campus. It's always great meeting new people. The location of this campus is great as well. With smaller schools around, as well as FSU, you really feel like you are in a huge college town. But like I said school is just school so you have to make the best of being on campus and get involved.

    Am learning a lot

Just because this is a community college does not mean you won't learn a lot! The teachers here are wonderful and, just like any other teacher, they are here for you and want you to strive to do your best. They are always offering help after classes if you don't understand something, as well as being a tutor for you. The learning commons is also another place that you can receive immense amounts of help. It is full of tutors and fellow students who are only there to help. Not only do you get a good education, this time of your life is where you are shaping your future. TCC plays a huge role in that part and teaches you many things you need in life.
