Categories Comments Clubs and Activities The clubs, like I mentioned before, are pretty much endless. No matter what you are interested in, there is a club to fit it; and if there isn't all you can easily make one. I've talked with the Dean Of Students and he told me and explained that students will come to him with new club ideas and they just have to write approved then, just like that, they are a club.
Great for these types of students This college is amazing for any students just wanting a good education at a low price and those who have a undecided major. Wayne should definelty be you top pice because of the price alone; then throw in all the major and opportunities they have. This college would appeal to many college seeking students.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus Wayne State College has a very successful Women's Rugby Team. The, now funded. club travels all around the states playing at national matches and tournaments. The are currently holding six national titles and are still chasing more.
Bang for the buck Wayne is know as one of the most affordable colleges in the whole country. That is pretty impressive and really nice for incoming college students. Especially when the facilities are so nice and they offer so many majors, the price is incradiable.
What to do for fun Wayne State College has almost any kind of club you could think of; and they can be so much fun. Some have structured study group aura while others are laid back and there purpose is to just have fun. Also, the town in Wayne has multiaple things to do on your free time. There is a nice sports bar, small and cozy theater, and quite a few family restaurants you could enjoy with friends.
Food and Dining They have a wide range of choices and have spots to buy food a bit spread out, so you can grab something when walking to your classes. The buffet they have is very nice and affordable: when you go you pay to eat then you can get whatever you'd like. You really have no limit
Dorm Life I know Wayne just finished the construction of a brand new dorm building. The best way I can describe it is being like a hotel, the rooms and living space is very nice and enjoyable. The dorms are larger than some others I've seen and stayed in; definitely one of my favorite dorms.
Academic Rigor As a highschool student looking to go to this college my knowledge on the acedemic programs are minimal. I do, however, know that they help students with hand on learning and use different programs to apply what your studying to the local communities. You can really learn first hand what kind of career you want.
In three sentences Wayne State College is a very welcoming college; the people are all really friendly and so are to owners of local businesses. Wayne has a wide range of majors and clubs to join; which made me very excited as a undecided major, to be able to try out a bit of everything to make sure I was going to really enjoy what I do. The faculty is also very nice and really want what's best for you.

Categories Comments Campus Safety The campus is small and very well lit at night. I have never felt unsafe on campus. Campus security patrols frequently and they offer rides to anyone who feels unsafe walking home. Every Wednesday and Thursday night the school offers free taxi rides around town from 10pm - 2am to discourage drunk driving.
Greek Life At this time there are three Greek life sororities/fraternities. There are two NPC groups on campus: Theta Phi Alpha sorority, and Tappa Kau Epsilon fraternity. In addition there is a local sorority, Zeta Tau Omega. There are also multiple major based fraternities as well as a couple honors fraternities.
Bang for the buck While the bathrooms may not be the prettiest, this is one of the most affordable non-community colleges in the state. The classes are the small size of an expensive private college for the price of a public school. Wayne State is a state funded college and as a result tuition is significantly cheaper than any of the bigger universities and they have way more scholarships available. If you end up not liking the dorms, you can always live off campus for even cheaper after your freshman year. Another big plus: parking is only $50 for the whole year.
What to do for fun The Student Activities Board (SAB) hosts large scale events monthly: like a casino night or a winter wonderland festival, as well as weekly movie screenings on campus. In addition they bring in entertainers like comedians and magicians/hypnotists. Other clubs on campus offer fun activities (and free food). The sci-fi club host Willy Con every year in April. Spanish club often has cultural food experiences, and activities. Several campus ministries also host socials and dances through out the year. The local theater plays movies every weekend for $5 a ticket and there is also a bowling alley across the street from campus. There are also some local shops that can be fun to browse through. Every Wednesday night one of the local dive bars, Rily's, hosts country night and everyone goes there to line dance and swing dance. They also host a hip hop night once a month on Thursdays.
Food and Dining The food in the main dining hall is typical cafeteria food, but you can get as much as you want of it. Once a month there is steak night on campus. The lower cafeteria offers a range of to-go type food, there is a papa johns, a sub sandwich bar, and a grill. Off campus there are several Mexican restaurants, a DQ, McDonalds, The Max bar & Grill, a steak lounge, Magic Wok, Miss Molly's coffee house, and Udder Delights (a local ice cream parlor/fast food joint). There are probably a few more but I can't think of them right now.
Dorm Life The freshman dorms are outdated and could use some work, but the rooms are fairly spacious and clean. The school is currently in the process of renovating the largest dorm on campus and it will be incredible when it is finished in the fall of 2017. The resident assistants plan frequent socials and group activities so there is almost always something to go to at night on weekdays.
Academic Rigor The science programs are really tough because there are so many RHOP scholars here, but most other classes are your typical college level classes. If you took AP classes in high school the work load should be similar. Our honors program is expanding and offers many honors general education classes. They offer a chance to be in a class that focuses heavily on in-class discussions and preparing outside of class. There are also quite a few service learning classes that offer hands-on experience in their topic area.
Tips for prospective students 1. Wayne is a really small town, know what you are looking for outside of academics and make sure Wayne can meet those expectations. Small town living is not for everyone. --> But know that Sioux City is only an hour drive away 2. Prior academic achievement isn't a huge factor in acceptance due to the open enrollment policy. 3. Wayne offers a lot of great scholarships for incoming freshmen, but be sure to complete the application before December 1st! (There are a couple essays and you need TWO letters of recommendation) 4. When touring the campus, don't worry about the Library. They are in the middle of renovations, but it will be awesome when it is finished next fall!
In three sentences Wayne State College is a small rural college that is constantly expanding and renovating. We are known for our friendly atmosphere and it is really easy to get to know new people and be involved in clubs and activities. The staff is amazing and really invested in the lives of the students, willing to go the extra mile to help anyone that is struggling.

Categories Comments What to do for fun There is bowling, a movie theater, and parks all within walking distance. Yay small towns!
Food and Dining The meal plan provides buffet-style meals in the upper cafeteria, and the large variety of food available provides for delicious meals. There are plenty of healthy options as well.
Dorm Life The dorms are a welcoming environment. There are always activities going on. There are downsides, such as public restrooms and paper thin walls, but everyone is very respectful of one another.
Academic Rigor The professors are more than happy to help you out when you need it. There is a large variety of classes you can take.
Tips for prospective students Plan ahead for things. Don't get caught up in the party crowd.
In three sentences Wayne State College is small and welcoming. There is a large variety of activities and clubs. Everyone is really nice.

Have fun when you come to visit because it makes the visit so much more fun.

Categories Comments What to do for fun The college has a number of activities, not just sports to attend. There are speakers on campus, as well as great art exhibits. Student organizations plan movie nights and other fun activities so there truly is something for everyone.
Food and Dining The meals are in a newer building and it works not only as a dining hall, but is set up so you can quickly get meals or snacks between classes. There is a coffee shop with quick snacks in the library as well. The atmosphere encourages meeting others and building friendships.
Dorm Life I am a student that commutes. I have worked on many projects with student that live in the dorms. They all have positive things to say about the activities on campus and are very active with them especially on the weekends.
Academic Rigor The Classes offered are challenging. The coursework is clearly laid out at the beginning of the course. Extra projects have been assigned to help challenge you further, but above all, if you stay on top of your studies, any course goes much more smoothly.
Tips for prospective students This is a good fit for any student who wants the college experience as well as the opportunity to excel. Plan to utilize the tutoring services and labs established to help you with your studies. The instructors are available during office hours as well as other times. Get involved in the outside activities and organizations, this will help build a strong network when you start looking for your job.

Clubs and Activities go to wsc.edu and see all of the intramurals, sports, and activities this school offers. I can tell you that there are so many..
Great for these types of students This school is great for students who want to get involved in Arts, and Music, Education, Health and Nutrition. This school does not have a lot of Health degrees such as Dental Hygiene or Nursing.

What to do for fun At the college you can go swimming, hang out at the library, and work out. There are so many extra curricular activities you can get involved in to keep you busy as well.
Food and Dining The upper gag has a buffet with a wide variety of food to pick from. The lower gag is where you can order your choice of food that you want. Equally they are both good just kind of expensive but what college food isn't. You can get a meal plan through your financial aid.

Bang for the buck You get SO much out of Wayne State College, and it's incredibly inexpensive! The classes are real, your education is very impressive, and you still get that full college experience you would at any other big college. It's hard to tell you're even at a small school! I promise!
What to do for fun There are always signs up everywhere with things to do on campus. There is Cru and the Newman Center, Zombie campus-wide games, comedians, and even a ton of bands come and play. They also show movies in the big theater on campus so everyone who wants to, can come watch it for free! There are also a couple of bigger cities near Wayne that have a lot of shopping you can do and more places to eat out, and the farthest you'll drive is 45 minutes to get there. Perfect for the weekend!
Food and Dining The food was actually pretty good considering I ate it all year. Of course some of it got sick after awhile just because you saw and ate it for eight months straight, but it was good. They have a ton of drink selections and they are always mixing up the food. Wayne even has a lower cafeteria you can use for a quieter meal and for a different selection than upstairs. The upper dining room can get crowded at times but it just depends on when you eat lunch. You learn to know the busy days and the slow days as you enter the semester.
Dorm Life You really need to get involved with activities your dorm holds, especially in the beginning of the year. The Resident Assistants (RA's) are extremely friendly, though, and so are your fellow hall/dorm mates! Everyone got along and the rooms were very nice and big compared to other college's I visited.
Academic Rigor They definitely take schooling seriously and push you to the limits, but in the best way possible. They help you learn so much about your major and they are very flexible with student's schedules and the maximum load of the class. They have guidelines, but a student's input is always heard! They hire very educated professors for every class you take and the professors are always willing to answer questions and discuss what is important to the students.
Tips for prospective students Absolutely consider this college! Especially if you are going into education. I put it on the back burner and wasn't even going to look at it until a couple of my friends convinced me to, and boy am I glad I did! It was absolutely perfect for me and the people are so friendly! Some tips are to get a tour not on a huge group day, but rather on your own and with a student there, it will be much more personal and real. Also, eat the cafeteria food! This is for any college you visit. Ask to visit Berry Hall and Morey as well, for they are mostly Freshman dorms. You don't want to visit other upperclassmen dorms and then be disappointed when you're not put in them. Also, get to know your professors. At a small school like this they will remember your first name and if you ever have any questions or need an assignment pushed back, they will most likely listen and you will probably be heard!
In three sentences I would rate Wayne State College a 9 out of 10. It is a small college but you still very much get the full college experience.

Categories Comments Bang for the buck Great school for your money. You get a great education for a rather cheap rate. There are also scholarship opportunities as well to help pay for your education.
What to do for fun Wayne does have a movie theater, bowling alley, etc. It is a smaller town so doesn't have everything the city would have. There is always activities, clubs & whatever else going on as well, so there is plenty to do.
Food and Dining Food is fine, better than some other colleges. Still doesn't compare to home cooking.
Dorm Life Never lived in the dorms, so I can't say how dorm life is.
Academic Rigor Classes can be tough, but can be passed as long as you take the time to study. Really the academic rigor is just about right, not so tough that you can't pass the class but not so easy that you'll be bored & wasting your time & money not learning anything.
Tips for prospective students My tips are for more than just WSC students & are mainly common sense. Go to class, study, & ask questions (both in & out of class). This is really what most professors are looking for, & will put you far ahead of the rest. Also, get involved on campus, in the community & anywhere else you possibly can. It will make the experience that much more enjoyable & will look great to employers.
In three sentences Wayne State College is a great school to go to. It's probably considered a smaller school compared to some, but this allows for more personalized learning, greater access to your advisers & professors, & a friendly atmosphere. WSC also offers a variety of majors, which are relatively inexpensive to gain degrees in.

Food and Dining Wayne has great food and the flex dollars are great.
Dorm Life If you have a good roommate that you get along with I'm sure you'll have a good time.
Academic Rigor Depending on your major your work load will vary.

Categories Comments Campus Safety Cops harass everyone so the campus is pretty safe. NOT!!!
Greek Life Not much of one.
Clubs and Activities Get involved. the more involved you are the better your support system and you need it in this town. The clubs are great and you'll meet a ton of people who are usually cool.
Great for these types of students Great place for athletes. People in the town will pretty much worship you.
Bang for the buck Not so much, a few things are cheaper but even the dollar store is overpriced.
What to do for fun There are the sporting events and Majestic Theatre in town. Anything else is outside the town limits.
Food and Dining The gag has the same things every day and it makes my stomach turn. Have not eaten there for about two years now.
Dorm Life Never actually lived in a dorm.
Academic Rigor It all depends on the major but the teachers actually want to help you.
Tips for prospective students Make sure you have a car or a friend who does have a car. It will help you immensely in the long run.
In three sentences Wayne State is a great college. The only bad thing is the town is about 2 miles by two miles and does not have very much of anything you need in town. It would be a better atmosphere for college life if there was more variety in the shops and food choices.

Categories Comments Campus Safety The campus security is exceptional here. They are always around to help if you need something or lock your keys in your car.
Clubs and Activities If you cant find a club that you want, the dean of the college will allow you to create your own group club!!!
Great for these types of students Students who want a small town atmosphere with tons of friendly people and professors.
Bang for the buck It is really cheap for such a great education.
What to do for fun There are tons of things to do for fun here at Wayne State. If you are a sport buf, there are home games weekly including the exciting rugby teams. There are like 70 academic groups on campus that you can become involved in also. Like i said above, the recreation center is where most students spend their free time. they can play basketball, workout, swim, lift wieghts, play raquetball, join intermural teams, and so much more.
Food and Dining The cafeteria food is exceptional. They have one of the largest varieties of food that i have ever seen. Just picture all of the great buffet restuarants that you have eaten at, all clustered into one cafeteria. The cafeteria also has healthy alternatives including a large salad and vegetable bar.
Dorm Life The dorm life here at Wayne State College is great. I have met almost every single person on my floor because most people leave their doors open and welcome visitors. The dorm halls also have socials weekly and those become great places to pick up chicks.
Academic Rigor You really have to stay on top of your studies because it is easy to get distracted with all the activities going on around campus. Most classes have monthly tests, so it is nothing the average college student cant handle.
Tips for prospective students Here at Wayne, it is easy to maintain great social connections while gaining a great education. As long as you don't skip class and attend the lectures, there is no way that you wont succeed.
In three sentences Wayne State College is a student friendly campus with tons of chances to become involved and learn almost everything there is to think of. We have a great math and science department, an outstanding business department and one of the nations best education programs. In your free time when you have nothing to do, the recreation center here has tons of activities that all students can partake in.

Categories Comments Clubs and Activities There are over 100 clubs on campus! Many of which have been started for students, by students. From archery, International club, Greek life, Intramurals, rugby, German club, Sci-Fi Club, Vogue Fashion club, Art club, Christian groups/clubs, Freethinkers, and many more! Not finding what you're looking for? Start one. There are tons of people willing to help you get started on bringing together people of shared passions and getting the word out!
Great for these types of students Opportunists, dreamers, travelers, and intellectuals....wanting the whole package for a low, reasonable price.
Bang for the buck Probably one of the best things about this school, is it's price tag. Affordable and your penny does go a long way. Plus, what sounds better to broke college students than FREE admission to athletic events, movies premiers on campus, dances and live shows, and the wide selection of FOOD available at those events...or whenever they just feel like giving it out.
What to do for fun In all honesty the TOWN of Wayne is not the most exciting place on the map. That is why Wayne State always holds free events on campus like Zombie Apocalypse or hypnotist/comedian shows , Country Night at Riley's (night of dancing away Footloose-style), The Majestic movie theatre (Three spankin' dollars a ticket!), and free admission to all its athletic events.
Food and Dining Upper GAG and Lower GAG. Despite the name, the food is actually pretty swell. Upper GAG is more of a buffet style dining area, where everything from Chinese, Italian, sandwiches, deserts and salads are offered in a relaxed setting. Whereas the Lower GAG, includes sandwiches, Taco Bell, Italian, Burgers and Ready-to-eat meals for the busy student on the go! Warning: It may sound like quite the abundance, but after a while you may get bored of the same things everyday.
Dorm Life Dorms range from I-can-manage-but-I'm-definately-picking-elsewhere--next-year all the way to the newly-renovated-and-smelling-like-an-apple-orchard. All dorms hold socials every now and then, social aspect depends on the people and dorm you're in (which can range from wild-and-free colleagues to chill-and-focused-on-my-studies colleagues) and free food is usually a given.
Academic Rigor The class sizes range from about 10-30 students per class, instead of a lecture hall of over 200 students. This is such a huge advantage because you are able to find that personal one-on-one time with your professors to help you get the extra help you deserve. Most professors on campus are extremely dedicated and respond to you immediately. Homework isn't too bad, and class isn't just a place to learn the intended course of study, but so much more beyond that! Study Abroad is offered all the time on campus for affordable prices, so don't be surprised if your next class is in the gorgeous outskirts of Santorini, Greece. Honors program is available and free tutoring services are also offered.
Tips for prospective students Wayne State is big on one thing: OPPORTUNITY. You've got hopes and dreams? Want to start your own club? Travel the world? Make a difference? Create long-lasting friendships? Immerse yourself in the adrenaline-rush of athletics? CHALLENGE ACCEPTED. Wayne State can make it happen. Small in size, it's BIG on helping students achieve their academic endeavors, as well as reaching for the stars and beyond. With it's dedicated professors and friendly atmosphere, making that leap is closer than you think.
In three sentences Imagine your Goldilocks in the story of the Three Bears: Wayne State...is not too big, not too small, you're not lost at sea with over 10,000 students, neither is it a ghost town, homework is not tortuously overwhelming, neither is it baby's-first-steps easy, class length isn't forever-and-ever after, teachers aren't too over-the-top dictator strict, neither are they lazy or careless.....Wayne State is juuuusst right.

Categories Comments Campus Safety i have heard tons of awful things, but in my four years here i have never once felt threatened.
Greek Life i know that there are a couple on campus for males and females to join, but i don't know much about the groups.
Clubs and Activities there are far too many to count. one of the more unique ones is the sci-fi club which puts on a killer haunted house every year. tons of sports teams and activities to be involved in.
Great for these types of students someone who like to feel connected would love wsc. there is always something going on and you get to meet people from all over.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus the town is often referred to as wayne, america. not wayne, nebraska.
Bang for the buck wayne is cheap and you get a quality education.
What to do for fun there is always something going on. sporting events, theatrical performances, art showings, student activities, etc.
Food and Dining wsc has 3 major dinning options. a full cafeteria, a fast food cafeteria when the actual cafeteria isn't open, and jitters, the library coffee shop.
Dorm Life some love it. some hate it. you are part of the community of wsc and wayne, america no matter where you live.
Academic Rigor how tough classes are depends on your major and what you are willing to put into it.
Tips for prospective students realize, it's a small school. make sure your major/minor is available. if it's not don't shy away. the wayne state staff make great advisers, and will help point you in the right direction.
In three sentences wayne is a great small town state college. your teachers know you and are willing to go out of their way to help their students. you really feel part of the community.

Categories Comments Campus Safety campus security is always driving around to help. they give every student their number so you can call at any hour if you need help or have hurt yourself. i've even called them to help change my tire. they also help if you lose your keys! also, there is a thing called wildcat wheels, which is sponsered by students and surrounding community. it is a cab service for wayne state students. no matter how late you can call them and they'll come get you and take you back to the dorms. it does cost a bit of money but it's totally worth it if you are a girl who is afraid to walk home alone in the middle of the night. also, they won't tell on you if your state of mind or level of intoxication is questioned. they just want you to get home safely. room doors are locked by your key and thats easily kept safe. the stair doors lock at 8 from the outside so that nobody can get in. the front doors also lock at 8 so that nobody except who lives there can get in, you have a key to those doors. every person who doesn't live in the dorm has to be checked in after 8 so no creepers can come waltzing into the building. it's all kept really safe.
Greek Life there are two main sororities and two fraternities here on campus. they are both nice and somewhat affordable. socials are a must for greek life and they dress nice every monday. there is also a greek society for english majors, accounting majors, and an honors greek society offered here.
Clubs and Activities there are so many clubs. there is a club for every student. even a wii bowling intramural club with actual tournaments! some of the clubs include: biology club, sadd, w.r.i.t.e.s club, health science club, science fiction and fantasy club, rotaract club, fashion club, christian crusade, circle k club, and many sports teams and intrumural sports teams. there truly is a club for every person here, promise.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus a really special place on campus is the willow bowl. it's this beautiful open arena, outside near a copse of trees. there are stairs and seats and a stage made out of stone. graduation is held there if the weather permits. i've even seen quite a few of the neighborhood citizens hold weddings there because it's such a pretty spot. a wierd tradition wayne state has is a campus wide game called zombies vs. humans. in the game, everyone on campus participates and some are designated zombies and others are humans. simply stated, the zombies catch the humans and eat them, which turns them into zombies, and the humans shoot the zombies with modified nerf guns, which stuns them so they can get away. the zombies die if they don't catch so many humans in so many days. the last team standing wins a prize and the last human alive wins a prize. it's a lot of fun and is amazing to see what an entire student body can have fun doing. :)
Bang for the buck wayne state college is really affordable. compared to surrounding universities and private colleges it is the cheapest. they also have a lot of scholarship opportunities for freshman, transfer, and current students that help a lot. they work in collaboration with the board of trustees scholarship which is full tuition, the nihardt scholarship which offers full tuition and board, and the rhop scholarship which offers full tuition and entrance into unmc for prospective med students.
What to do for fun wayne is a pretty small town so most people wouldnt think there is much to do for fun. it's a dry campus so there isn't many parties. there is a really cool movie theater in town that just opened, it shows movies for only four dollars. really cheap is really good! :) on campus there is a lot to do also. there are a lot of clubs and activities to join that have socials and a lot of sororities and fraternities that have socials. there is also a christian group on campus that offers many fun things, like root beer keggers and stuff. the student activities board hosts a lot of free activities all over campus. these include air brush tattoos, bull riding contests, wax molds of body parts, make your own snow globes and many many more. they also host free movies once a month in the ramsey theater. so far this year they've shown pirates of the carribean 4, harry potter 8, horrible bosses, footloose, puss in boots, the hangover 2, and a few others. the football games are free to students and so much fun to watch.
Food and Dining the upper cafeteria has amazing choices. they have a theme bar, a sandwich bar, a salad bar, a grill, and a pasta and pizza place. and and ice cream and desert bar. the choices really are almost endless. and the food isn't the gross, pre-prepared stuff that high schools serve you. it's fresh and really good. also, if you don't like whatever is on the menu upstairs their is a downstairs cafeteria that takes the meal plan. downstairs, they have an epic grill, and a pizza place, a sandwhich bar and even a taco bell. it's really cool having a taco bell that works off your meal plan! also there is a place in the library called jitters. there they sell starbucks coffee and slushies and meals to go if you are in a hurry. they also have candy and many other items that can be taken off your meal card. there is so many choices!
Dorm Life dorm life here is great. all of the dorms i've been in are good for their own reasons. pile hall has been newly renovated in fall of 2011, so it's brand new. bowen hall has really private restrooms and a lot of closet space! also the lobby is split into half floors so you can socialize with many more people including the opposite genders. berry hall, morey hall, and terrace hall have larger rooms that gives you the offer to loft your beds so that you have more floor space. and niehardt hall and anderson hall are really quiet dorms. if you like peace and quite and study time those are the dorms for you. there are dorms for all personality types. it's great!
Academic Rigor the classes are tough but the teachers are fair. i'm in the pre-medicine program at wayne state and it is difficult, they make sure you know what you need to. however, the teachers always have office hours if you need help and the campus offers free tutoring sessions for most subjects. the classes are small sized so it's easy to learn. they want you to do well.
Tips for prospective students if you're going to pick a dorm they are all really decent. the best one's are pile hall, because it's brand new and has never had students in it, or bowen hall because it has the best bathrooms and elevators and air conditioning. the other dorms all have sinks in the rooms but don't have air conditioning and central heating. stay away from morey hall! it's the worst dorm here.
In three sentences the best ever!

Categories Comments What to do for fun depends what you're into, there are a bunch of clubs for almost everything. there are sports all year, of course, and there are intramural sports for those of us who are natural born athletes. there are always people in the library, hanging out at the coffee shop, studying, or messing around on computers.
Food and Dining the cafeteria, or as students call it - the gag, is alright. the lower gag has taco bell, pizza, different sandwiches and subs, a salad bar, and they have a menu for a lot of fried foods. the upper gag is more of a cafeteria and has a set cost for all you can eat.
Dorm Life i do not live in a dorm but i've heard good things. there are a about 5 dorms on campus, i believe, each seems to have a different vibe.
Academic Rigor of course it depends on this class you're taking. most of the liberal arts and humanities classes are difficult but definitely not horrible. the science and math classes are a bit harder, at least the ones i've had. the science program at wayne is wonderful, they really make you work and apply critical thinking.
Tips for prospective students immerse yourself. try a bunch of different classes, i was surprised at how many classes are offered. try to get your textbooks early, a lot of times the bookstore either runs out quickly or they don't order enough.
In three sentences the professors are amazing, everyone i've had is helpful and loves their job. there are so many activities on campus; from different clubs, sports, intramural sports, and events that students put on.

Categories Comments Great for these types of students Teachers, writers, artists, and anyone involved in the humanities; people willing to stretch beyond their bounds and get to know everyone, including their professors. Those who are willing to work for what they want, accept responsibility, and have fun all the same time will excel here.
Tips for prospective students Get out of the dorm and join as many groups as you can that interest you, provided you don't overload yourself to the point of only stressing about them. Sit next to new people as often as possible-- say hello and get to know everyone. Seize every opportunity. When you've been studying for 10 hours straight, take someone's offer to go watch Iron Man or Inception at midnight in a dorm room.
Bang for the buck Even in these tough economic times, the only college names that seem to appear over and over again in conversations are east-coast institutions such as Harvard and Yale. These are perfectly fine, especially for doctors and lawyers, but for teachers and students of the humanities who prefer something that suits their major more and is incredibly affordable, WSC really is the best-kept secret of Nebraska.
Am enjoying being here Something's always going on at WSC, whether a holiday party involving going to see the supposed ghosts lurking in Ley theather or a late-night Dark Knight party during finals season, or a both hilarious and thought-provoking discussion with several professors. In one day, a student can have a fascinating in-class conversation, go to one of the free movies offered on campus, attend (or start!) a club perfectly tailored to their interests, and hang out with friends while doing homework. WSC is both enjoyable and satisfying.
Am learning a lot Whether in the classroom or at the poetry or fiction printing press, painting something for art class or acting on the stage, there's always both in-class knowledge and hands-one experience to be found at WSC. Plenty of opportunities exist to learn about new subjects, new interests, and new cultures and ideas.

Categories Comments Great for these types of students WSC is a great college for students who prefer small class sizes where the professors know each of their students names. The student population is small enough to walk across campus and meet people you know, but big enough to meet someone new each day. Also, students can walk to classes because all the buildings are close.
Tips for prospective students Prospective students should do the best they can on the ACT and their school work. It will help make great study habits for while in college.
Bang for the buck WSC provides a quality education at a low price.
Am enjoying being here There are always activities for students to participate in. The school organizations provide ways to meet new friends.
Am learning a lot Wayne State College helps find careers for students with their general education program. Students receive a well rounded education as they take courses in science, art, math, and business.
