With a campus along the shore of Lake Superior, Bay Mills Community College is the first 2-year tribal community college in the northeastern upper peninsula of Michigan. BMCC confers degrees and certificates in 24 academic programs. As a tribal institution, BMCC offers an associate degree in Great Lakes Native American Studies and a 4 to 6-year Anishnaabemwin Pane language immersion program. Outside of the classroom, every spring BMCC hosts a weekend-long Inter-Tribal Basketball Tournament.
