Bellingham Technical College is a 2-year institution located in Bellingham. It’s the only technical college in the northwest region of Washington state and is located 90 miles north from Seattle, 60 miles south of Vancouver, Canada. BTC offers associate degrees in 35 fields of study and certificates in 43 areas, and, as of 2011, became a member institution of Achieving the Dream, a nonprofit focused on assisting low-income and students of color complete degrees and certificates. The college is home to the BTC Cosmetology School, with classes that include nail care, bleaching, and wig care in a laboratory setting.
