Am learning a lot
The professors want you to learn all that you can. They are always helpful and provide a lot of help for you when you need it. The classes are challenging which makes learning the more fun. The programs this school has are top notch.
Am enjoying being here
I feel so welcome in the small, school atmosphere. With only around 5000 students total, you get a nice close to home feel. The people here are so friendly and you almost don't miss home at all!
Bang for the buck
You get what you pay for here. The tuition is high because it is a private school. But with that tuition comes some of the best learning you will receive from any school around.
Tips for prospective students
Make sure to get a high GPA in high school and do well on the ACT and SAT. Be prepared for some intense learning and a lot of studying. But also be prepared for such a fun atmosphere and an all around awesome school!
Great for these types of students
Prospective pre-vet students, pharmacy students, and equestrian students will be treated to the amazing and strong programs the University of Findlay has going.

The staff and professors are so welcoming and the campus feels very safe. The barns are beautiful and the school puts so many resources into students' educations. The professors make a point of getting to know you and making sure that you are successful and reach your goals throughout your years here.
Tips for prospective students
If you are an equestrian or animal science/pre-vet major, bring a car so that you never miss classes or rush to get from campus to them. Get involved in campus ministry; it's so much fun and the people are so loving and inclusive.
Academic Rigor
Most classes are pretty vigorous and really require that you study constantly, especially any of the sciences. There are very few classes that do not meet the standard of the rest of the school.
Dorm Life
I live in Bare Residence Hall on the third floor and it is actually pretty nice. There's a big laundry room on the first floor but also a washer and dryer on the third that is never really hard to get access to. Housekeeping maintains the bathrooms and hallways very well. Most people are respectful of quiet hours, but the walls are pretty thin, so you hear a lot. The dorms are small, but not so small that you have no room, especially since you can rearrange the furniture and stack it if you want.
Food and Dining
They try to make a lot of the food seem home cooked and make types of food that the majority of people like. The desserts are fantastic, plus there is always ice cream. As far as drink options go, there are many, even coffee. The on campus restaurants, especially The Cave, are amazing and accessible hours. The main downside to on campus dining is that there are not many healthy options.
What to do for fun
There are a ton of clubs and intramural sports that you can join, whether you have experience or not. The campus ministry options are also great and they never turn anyone away or exclude people. There is a movie theater in town as well as many awesome restaurants. There are a lot of concerts within a two-hour radius, plus there are festivals during the warmer months and scare places during the fall.
Bang for the buck
Most professors do an amazing job and the degree programs are very through and go much more in depth than most school do. This is especially the case for environmental or equestrian students, who have access to state-of-the-art facilities.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus
There are red dots around the fountain, and supposedly if you step on them then you will fail your next test. If you walk under the arch before you graduate (and after the arch ceremony freshman year), then you will not graduate.
Great for these types of students
Study! The 2:1 study ratio is no joke nor is it exaggerated.
Clubs and Activities
SO MANY! You really have no excuse to not be involved on campus. Whether it's campus ministry, Greek life, academic clubs, sports, or just fun things, there is always something to do.
Greek Life
There are a few sororities and fraternities, but since I am not part of one, I cannot give an opinion of them.
Campus Safety
There are emergency phones throughout at campus and their are security patrols and surveillance, I still walk around at night with a buddy or with my keys between my fingers just in case though, especially since I am a girl.

Will learn a lot
The classes I signed up for interest me a lot, so I know I'll pay attention in class and learn. The professors seemed really friendly, down to earth, and honest about what they told you. They didn't sugar-coat things at all.
Will enjoy being here
There are a lot of things to do related to horses and animals in general, and I love animals so I'll be joining quite a few of these clubs. The town is smaller, but still has everything you need without needing to go to a bigger city.
Bang for the buck
Although the tuition cost is somewhat high, I think it'll be worth the expense. They offer a lot of things to do for free it seems. Everyone is always willing to help, so you won't have to pay to go tutor somewhere else.
Tips for prospective students
Be sure to visit campus, it really sells you on if you want to attend or not!
Great for these types of students
Farm-raised kids, students who don't want to go to a huge university, students who want a personalized education.

The University of Findlay is a very good and rigorous school. Most of the professors are very easy to get along with and they are passionate about their jobs. The campus itself is very small which makes everything convenient and a little more enjoyable in the winter.
Tips for prospective students
Visit the campus! You will fall in love with it! Try to find a current student with the same major you're looking at and see what they have to say. There's a perfect college for everyone, you just have to find it.
Academic Rigor
Be prepared to study like you never had before. It depends what kind of high school you are coming from, but depending on your study habits now you're most likely going to have to change them.
Dorm Life
Personally I am a commuter, but I have many friends in the dorms and have spent some time there. Comparing the dorm size to other colleges they are smaller at Findlay. On the positive side though, the buildings themselves are smaller so you get to know everyone. I don't hear very many complaints. Just have your mini fridge and bring a lot of pictures of friends and family and you'll be fine.
Food and Dining
Meh. On college visit day there will be awesome food. That is the only time you will see this food. Other times it is good, but not excellent. There are always desserts that are very good. They have vegetarian options as well as a salad area, pasta, chicken and hamburgers stations. Take your pick.
What to do for fun
The campus constantly has activities going on and there are many many different clubs and organizations to be a part of. You won't be bored. Just check your email or look at all of the banner across campus to see what's going on. The town of Findlay itself is awesome too. There are tons of restaurants and a decent mall.
Bang for the buck
It's expensive, but considering it is a private school it could be worse. If you did good in high school you will get a nice scholarship from the university itself. Apply to any outside scholarships you are eligible for, you won't regret it.
Clubs and Activities
You name it, Findlay has it. Just pay attention the beginning of the semester and you will find the right clubs/activities for you.
Campus Safety
This campus is a very safe campus and I have never been concerned for my safety. I had some classes that ended around 9PM and I always felt safe. There are several emergency centers on the sidewalks where you can press a button and help will come. I don't think it ever gets used though because it's never needed.

i love the university of findlay because of the small campus atmosphere. teachers and staff are always willing to talk to and help you with whatever you may need. classes are exciting and fun because the small class sizes allow for hands-on interaction and extra teacher attention.
Tips for prospective students
tips for prospective students are the same at any institution. you should talk to different people, be open-minded, always ask questions and go see your teachers. it's okay to form relationships and get involved on campus. you can get yourself out there and network with all kinds of people.
Academic Rigor
classes can be easy or can be challenging. a lot depends on the teacher, the course, and your efforts and input.
Dorm Life
dorms are awesome. you can make lots of friends and meet new people every day.
Food and Dining
for the most part, there are lots of different options. the food is good and the dining hall tries to add in advice from students occasionally through surveys.
What to do for fun
findlay offers lots of things to do. there are theaters, stores, restaurants, etc. on campus, there are events going on all of the time. headlining groups are often brought in and several organizations on campus offer several diverse activities. you should never get bored.
Bang for the buck
findlay offers my ideal college experience. there is a plethora of things to do on and off campus. everyone is friendly and willing to make new friends. the classes offer plenty of diversity and each teacher adds their own flair to the class.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus
the university of findlay has an arch that is only to be passed through on the first day of freshman year and on graduation day. if you go under the arch at any other time you will either not graduate or not graduate in your major. there are also red dots on campus in the sidewalks. if you step on one of these, you will fail a test. to compensate for this, the shaffer library has a globe on the 2nd floor. you rub findlay, ohio for good luck. the globe is actually indented and findlay rubbed off from so many people rubbing it.
Great for these types of students
hands-on learners and those willing to get involved and make friends will do the best at this institution.
Clubs and Activities
findlay offers over one hundred organizations to be involved in. it is extremely easy to get involved and leadership opportunities are everywhere.
Greek Life
there is a multitude of greek life organizations both social and professional.
Campus Safety
the campus is equipped with blue call towers if for whatever reason you feel threatened or need help with anything including your car or an injury. they go out extremely early on snowy days and do an amazing job clearing the snow and laying down salt.

Will learn a lot
When I visited UF, the professors seemed very interested in wanting to teach you everything they possibly could. They also seem willing to help you one-on-one if you need it. The classrooms are the perfect size and you don't feel like just another number.
Will enjoy being here
It sounds like there is SO much to do! I plan on being involved in a lot of the intramurral sports and possibly a few of the clubs.
Bang for the buck
Like everyone said, UF is expensive! But with an excellent staff and plenty of activities, the pay is well worth the great education I'll be getting.
Tips for prospective students
The University of Findlay is big enough that you will make plenty of friends and will never be bored, yet is small enough that you're not just another face in the crowd.
Great for these types of students
Shy, quiet students who want to broaden their self-esteem.

Am learning a lot
The classes are really small for the most part. I am a Pre-vet student, it's a popular major here so the classes get filled up quickly and are really full. They almost always open up another class to choose. The professors care about the students and usually have one-on-one sessions to help the students out to make sure they're getting the most out of their classes. The professors are passionate about their subjects and really know what they are talking about.
Am enjoying being here
There are TONS of clubs to be apart of and there is always something to do on campus. There are intramural sports you and friends can be apart of...there's broom hockey, soccer, football, volleyball, and a bunch more I can't think of right now.
Bang for the buck
Tuition is expensive but if you want the best education....you got to be willing to pay.
Tips for prospective students
Study hard in high school and do the ACTs and/or SATs. Make sure you are ready to be in college. Check into the size of school you want. Findlay is a small private school.
Great for these types of students
Equestrian and Pre-vet majors are very strong programs. Students looking into a pharmacy program as well.
