The University of South Alabama in suburban Mobile, AL, is a public institution known for its research focusing on the Gulf Coast. It is home to several research centers such as the Stokes Center for Creative Writing, the Pheromone Center, and the Center for Hurricane Intensity and Landfall Investigation. South has a “selective” admissions program. A majority of students choose to study nursing, health services and preparatory studies, or elementary education.

This school is very diverse, has a lot of opportunities for a student of any ethnicity. The professors I have taking classes from are very helpful and supporting. The campus id welcoming and will feel just like home once you get acquainted with other students.
