Wartburg College is a liberal arts institution affiliated with the Lutheran Church (ELCA) located in Waverly, Iowa. Founded in 1852, Wartburg has grown to offer more than 50 academic majors and preprofessional programs for its 1,500 students hailing from 50 countries and 30 US states. Named for the Wartburg Castle in Eisenach, Germany, where Martin Luther took refuge for 10 months during the stormy days of the Protestant Reformation, Wartburg puts emphasis on leadership and service through the Center for Community Engagement, which maintains relationships with a variety of community partners. Wartburg also offers the opportunity to study abroad in every major, which 40% of students take advantage of each year.
The Wartburg student body is very close-knit. It is very common for professors and even the president of the college to invite students to have dinner at their house. The academics are stellar, especially in the music and science departments.

This is a great college for people interested in biology and/or music. I plan to go here for just that! I love the atmosphere and it just seems like home.
