Washington and Lee University is a liberal arts university located in Lexington, VA, along the Shenandoah River and surrounded by the Blue Ridge Mountains and the Allegheny Mountains. W&L's motto is "Non Incautus Futuri," which means "not unmindful of the future" and it underlies the 37 major programs the school provides. The Williams School of Commerce, Economics, and Politics at Washington and Lee is the first college of commerce at a liberal arts institution to receive a national accreditation.
This university is a really great place to be for people, who are big fans of outdoor activities. The rural setting and natural sceneries in Lexington are truly mesmerizing, and the people here are very friendly. The academic life is challenging, but it's worth it. The Greek system is quite dominant.

I toured W&L this past year, and I had the most amazing experience! I got to sit with a guidance counselor and talk with him and my mom for over an hour about the school and various programs that I was interested in, and then I went on a tour with a senior there who was very informative and helpful and even introduced me to some of his professors. It felt like the tour was catered specifically for me!
