What Students Are Saying

3.97 Average Rating
Willamette is not known for laid-back education. Students are expected to work hard in their academics, but are given a lot of flexibility to personalize their education. At Willamette, full time students are expected to engage in a 40 hour education work week which encompasses classes and studies.
Grace from Salem, OR
Academics at Willamette are difficult but rewarding. You have to be willing to challenge yourself and be held accountable for your work. Although it can be intense, there are always professors and tutors who are willing to help you out if you're struggling.
Jacqueline from Los Gatos, CA
Classes are hard. You will have to write lots of essays and you will feel overwhelmed but professors are supportive and understanding and there is free tutoring for every subject.
Sophomore Bio Major
academically challenging, but manegable if you balance your time well
Kassandra from Scotts Valley, CA
the secret is upper division courses. as soon as you get past the 100 level courses all the courses are amazing. the professors are always excellent, but the pace will be a lot slower in lower division classes.
Andres O. from Pleasanton, CA
It's definitely an academically rigorous school but don't let that scare you away. Once again there are a lot of resources to help you do well and teachers are willing to help! You will be doing a lot of work but it is all doable.
