Industrial Engineering

Majoring in industrial engineering prepares you to apply scientific and mathematical principles to the design, improvement, and installation of integrated systems. Industrial engineering students take classes in applied mathematics, physical sciences, the social sciences, engineering analysis, systems design, and forecasting and evaluation methodology. Getting a major in industrial engineering doesn't mean graduates will be stuck on one career path forever. Some individuals work in manufacturing, helping to design and create new products, machines, or solutions. Others work at logistics operations, the health care field, or gain a teaching certification so they can inspire young minds.
